Tumbleweed House Cards

Hi everyone, do you believe we are already in September?  Steph here today and I've created a couple of cards using Tumbleweed Houses.  This sweet set is perfect to celebrate friends and family who are moving or perhaps settling into their own homes.

Using kraft cardstock, I chose the LiveLoveCreate paper for the background then added Spellbinders die cuts to hold my sweet houses.  I inked the edges of the die cuts with Color Pop Metallic ink in Shimmer.

I stamped the houses with Color Pop Mystery Ink then colored them with Copic Markers.  I fussy cut them for the cards.

The houses in this set as so sweet, you could mix and match them, stamp them together or stamp them individually.  I used the sentiment from Grandma's Needlepoint, stamping it in Color Pop Kiss Ink.

I added some clay elements using products from Makin's Clay as accent pieces.  The assorted sized clouds were the perfect touch above the houses as were the tiny flowers.

I hope I've inspired you to create today.

Thanks for stopping by.

2771 - Our Home Journal Pages

Hi everyone Steph Ackerman here today.   We've been asked this month to open our eyes, look around, see the world, and be inspired!  Some times you just need to be still to take it all in.

I have never really given much thought to journal pages.  I've seen a lot of then, but never had the desire to create any.  But, this month, I  figured I'd give it try.  I had so much fun creating these pages.  I can't believe how freeing it is!!  No rules.  No demands.  Just do what you want and see what happens!!

I spritzed the pages with  the new ColorBox Spritzers - Mermaid, Lemon Drop and Grasshopper - allowing the colors to flow into each other.  Next, I placed the Umwow Harlequin stencil in the corners of both pages and inked it with ColorBox Grasshopper Archival Ink.  I also used the Susan K Weckesser stencil along the bottom of the pages, inking with the same color.

Stamped and fussy cut Unity's Little Haven with ColorBox Wicked Black Archival Ink, then colored it with Smooch Accent Inks.  I used Susan K Weckesser stencil on the roof to create some dimension, and added my house numbers.  The sun from Unity's Fly Away stamp set was also colored with Smooch Accent Inks.

The flowers along the bottom edges are from Susan K Weckesser' stencil and inked with ColorBox Crafter's Ink by Ann Butler.

The phrases were cut from Susan K Weckesser Live in Color pattern papers.  The phrases are amazing and are very appropriate to these journal pages.  And the bench reminds me that sometimes you need to sit and enjoy the world around you.

So I think I am officially hooked!  I see more journal pages in my future.  What about you?  Do you create journal pages just because???

Thanks for stopping by today.

Happy Birthday Gift set

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today and I am thrilled to be the guest designer this month for Susan K. Weckesser.

I received  the Live in Color Collection.  This is a gorgeous collection of whimsical images and beautiful colors and knew they'd be perfect for a gift ensemble.

The gift bag was originally pink and was somewhat faded by the sun.  Using the new ColorBox  Chalk Inks  in Harvest and Splash, I rubbed the ink pads across the gift bag, mixing the colors.  The colors of the inks coordinated really well with these papers.

I cut the Beautiful Daydreams paper to fit the gift bag, matting it with gray cardstock.  Then I fussy cut a cloud and the kite, adding them to the gift bag with foam adhesives for dimension.

Not wanting to waste any papers I had left, I created a coordinating  birthday card with the remaining paper and stamped "Happy Birthday" on a die cut oval I had left over from my previous birdhouse project.  I then matted it on several other dies before adding it to the card.

Thank you to Susan K. Weckesser, Inc. for giving me the opportunity to be a guest designer this month.  And thank you for stopping by today.

Live in Color Birdhouse

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today and I am thrilled to be the guest designer this month for Susan K. Weckesser.   When I first saw Susan's papers and stamps, I fell in love with them and knew I wanted to design with them.

I found this wood birdhouse and knew it would be perfect for the Live in Color Collection.

These papers are wonderful with their whimsical look and soft color palette.  I used different papers for each side of the birdhouse, cutting them slightly smaller than the birdhouse because I wanted the edges of the birdhouse to show.

Each paper was inked with ColorBox Chalk Ink in Harvest before adhering to the birdhouse.

I used Mod Podge as the adhesive and since the papers are heavy stock, they adhered to the wood smoothly, with no wrinkles.

For the front and back roof lines of the birdhouse, I die cut several Spellbinders ovals and cut them in half.  Each was then inked and  added to the roof creating an over-hang.

The overhang helped covered the areas where the paper was a little short since the birdhouse is about 14" high at the point.

The roof shingles were created from assorted papers using Spellbinders oval dies, inked with Harvest Chalk Ink and then adhered in layers to the roof.    I spritzed some water on the shingles to make them more realistic.

The birds are from the stamp set -  at Ground Level.  There were stamped in ColorBox Archival Ink in Mudslide, fussy cut, and placed atop some moss which I put inside the birdhouse.

This was an amazing project to create made that much better by the wonderful papers I was able to use.

Thank you to Susan K. Weckesser, Inc. for giving me the opportunity to be a guest designer this month.  And thank you for stopping by today.

Friendship Makes my Heart Happy!

Valentine's Day may be over but it is never too late to share your heart!
I especially like the idea of letting my friends know how important they are to me and this simple card is so easy to make!
The pretty green background of the card is from one side of Susan's Live in Color scrapbook paper.

The reverse side has huge colorful blooms on it and I decided to create the heart from one of those flowers!  I used a metal die to cut the funky heart shape.  I liked being able to slide it around the paper until I was happy with the image it framed!

Next I pulled out Grandma's Needlepoint stamp set and water colored an image of my favorite little girl.

A little fussy cutting and she was ready to be added in front of the heart with foam pop dots.
You can see I also stamped some stitching details on the heart.  I used alpha stamps from my stash to finish the lettering on the card and I know exactly who I am going to send it to now that it is done!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find some time to play today!

It's a Boy!

I have a baby shower that I am going to this weekend, and it is for a boy!!  I love to make handmade items for people on special occasions such as this, so here is my special card for such a special baby.

I just love the colors of teal, turquoise, tan, and white - it looks so clean and fresh, just what I think of new babies.  I had fun with all the layers and textures here, from die cuts to ribbon, flowers, chipboard, and Susan K. Weckesser Stamps.

http://www.susankweckesser.com/welcome

I used the horizontal line triangle stamp from the "Celebrate the simple things" stamp set by Susan K. Weckesser, stamped it in light brown ink on tan Core'dinations paper and then cut it out and place it in the background of the card.  I added a bit of twine from May Arts Ribbon across the top of the triangle banner and added little knots to the end.

I then took the "Create your Day" stamp from the below stamp collection by Susan K. Weckesser and stamped just the "your day" portion of the phrase around the card in random places, as it is the baby's day for he is about to be born (and also for his parents).

Build Your Dreams

Hello everybody!

Emmy here with a new project to share! I created this layout using a lot of different products from Susan K. Weckesser Inc.Susan K. Weckesser Inc. and Unity Stamps, Ranger Inc., Tim Holtz, May Arts and Tattered Angels.

For my background I used Tim Holtz "Cargo" layered stencil and different colors distressed ink pads. I stamped the alphabet washi tape with the Susan K. Weckesser and Unity Stamps "abc.123.washi" stamp set and Ranger Ink Archival ink pad - brown.

I thought the pattern of the stencil compliments very nicely the pattern on Susan K. Weckesser Whimsical Paper "Live Love Create".

I decorated the little buttons with a double color string from May Arts.

For my title I used Tim Holtz Nature Grungeboard. I altered the letters with blue and green embossing powders from Sparkle N Sprinkle.

I used Susan K. Weckesser Whimsical Paper "Beautiful Daydreams" to fussy cut the clouds and the stars. The house I cut out from the "Live Love Create" paper.

I created the small banners on my layout by cutting out the information strip from the pattern paper - yes, even there you can find Susan's signature style and use it to embellish your project.

The cute colorful circles I fussy cut from Susan K. Weckesser Whimsical Paper "Color Burst". I added Making Memories Grommets in the middle of some the circles to complete my design.

I hope you enjoyed today's post!

Come back tomorrow for more amazing projects from our design team!

Birthday card with Poised & Pretty

Hello everyone!

Emilia here with a new post featuring the amazing Poised & Pretty stamp set from Susan K. Weckesser and Unity Stamp Co.

This time I decided to create an all occasion girly card:

I used a 13 x 26 cm cardstock from Core'dinations.

The beauty of this card technique is that you can create your own layout by folding and cutting the different parts in the exact way that will fit your design best. I decided to go with a square card, because of the length of the stamp I wanted to use - the Poised & Pretty stamp set from Susan K. Weckesser and Unity Stamp Co.

I used one of the dresses from the stamp set and the hat. for my bow I used ribbon from May Arts Ribbon.

To finish off my design I added Ranger Ink Liquid Pears and brown pearls.

I hope you enjoyed today's post!

Come back tomorrow for more amazing projects from our design team!

hugs 'n smiles,
Emmy

Let it SNOW!

Hello crafty friends! Einat Kessler here with a new fun and easy project.
I always say I was born in the wrong place. I love my country but not the weather, the summer is too long and the winter is barely winter in North American or European terms...it rains, it gets a little cold but that's basically it. We only get snow on one mountain, which is a tourist attraction that you have to drive 3 hours to get to and try to have fun with too many people around you.

So...to encourage myself I created a cute card that I'm going to put on my work desk to help me imagine a snowy winter...

This card is very easy to make. First stamp the cute and amazing One of a kind winter by Susan Weckesser on a white cardstock. Make sure to use StazOn ink so it will not smear. Then color it with water colors or Copics. Cut it in a square or a round shape. I used Spellbinders Nestabilities. Then cut from different papers more shapes each one a little larger than the other. Adhere all the layers and add a title and a little bling!

Now all I have to do is look at my card and imagine....

Have fun Creating!
Einat

Motherhood is all about the Moments!

Hello!  Susie here today with a layout that is basically about motherhood and how important little moments really are.  The layout features a photo I have wanted to scrap for a long time but I just didn't have the right elements...until now!  The picture is of my mother cuddling me in bed as a toddler.  I am from a large family.  I have 8 siblings and the fact that she found time to cuddle me...and that I have this sweet photograph...astounds me!
A huge shout out to Fancy Pants Designs because the Collecting Moments line is the basis for this layout!

I quickly reached for one of my favorite Susan K. Weckesser stamps from Unity:  Motherhood is a Verb.  That is so true!  I inked the edges with Wild Honey Distress Ink and water-colored the apron blue. The ticket from Fancy Pants proclaims this as "my time"...also true!

In this embellishment cluster, I added a stamped sentiment from Susan K. Weckesser's Grandma's Needlepoint set:  "A little girl is sugar & spice and everything nice - especially when she is taking a nap."  I thought it was absolutely perfect for this photograph!

I also stamped the sweet image of the little girl from the Grandma's Needlepoint stamp set.  I cut and embssed it with a Spellbinders die and added Peeled Paint Distress Ink in the background.  The image was also water colored before I added a few Sage Green Pearls to the frame.
I decided to color her little Mary Janes black to match the ones I was wearing in the photo...it is the details that make me smile!

I created the title with a combination of chipboard, alpha stickers and a die cut word.
I think motherhood really is all about the little moments...day to day life...sharing affection and love.

Thank you for stopping by - I hope you find some time to play today!
