CHRISTMAS WORDS TREE

I love using my stamps in ways they weren't intended.  There were so many words in the Christmas Stamp Kits from Susan K. Weckesser that I wanted to use them all!  But how???  A Word Christmas Tree!!
Super FUN!

I gathered my supplies, stamped all the words on white cardstock and cut them out.

SUPPLIES:

I adhered the words in a triangle shape on white cardstock.  I then applied the Evergreen ink to the words and the cardstock.

Next, I diecut branches from the pinecone die and added Stickles to them and the words.

While the Stickles were drying, I cut the cardstock and adhered it to the card base.  On the top (red) cardstock I traced the shape of the tree.  I used the flower shape on the stencil and with a white pen to draw on the red cardstock.  I thought the flowers looked like snow :)  Then I fill in some areas with white dots.

The bird is from the "Very, Very Merry" Stamp Set.  I thought he was perfect for the top of the tree.  I cut him out and colored some parts of him.  I added Stickles to make him shine like a star.  I cut my branches a little smaller and glued them all over the tree.

I added pearls, to look like garland and ornaments, on the tree last.  I put a bow between the tree and the word Peace.  The Peace word was the tree holder.

Thanks for visiting!  Try having fun with words today!!

Thanks so Much

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.  Steph Ackerman here today hoping your day is full of wonderful things.  At this time of year, it's always nice to thank those who have helped us in some way.

I created a fun shaped card using a Spellbinders die.  Using a smaller die, I created a second lighter brown layer which I inked with Clearsnap Chestnut Roan ink using a Crafter's Workshop stencil - Positive.  After tying some May Arts brown lace around the lighter brown panel, I added the panel to the card with foam adhesives for dimension.

Fussy cutting a flower from the Live in Color collection, I added another flower to the center with a brad and then added it to the card front with foam adhesives.  Using a scrap of  pattern paper from the Live In Color collection, I used Clearsnap Design Adhesives and Designer Foils on top to create the perfect sentiment.

I finished the card by tying the sentiment to the lace.

Tree-mendous Thank You

There are many reasons why to send a thank you card.
Here are a few:
Holiday, birthday, graduation, and housewarming gifts
Bridal shower and baby shower gifts
Wedding gifts
When a host has treated you to a cocktail party, dinner, or concert
Anytime you feel particularly indebted to someone

So in preparation for the gift giving season I made a seasonal thank you card using one of Susan's newest stamps Very, Very Merry. I tried to keep it related to Christmas but not exactly a Christmas card.

I used my Sakura Glaze gel pens to color in the tree ( sparkly...yum ) and then cut it out to adhere it to the snowflake printed background. By laying some torn paper over the front that was embellished with Ranger's stickles gave it some dimension and even more sparkle! And you might notice that I doodled a border around the edge of the card using my Pigma Sensei Magna drawing pens.

Wishing everyone a Tree-mendous thank you for visiting today :)

Painted Burlap Gift Bag

Hi! Dana here today sharing a painted burlap gift bag. The Sing Your Song Stamp Set is one of my favorites and I had a lot of fun using it to upcycle this plain burlap bag. You may be wondering how I stamped onto burlap. Today I'm sharing a very simple process that involves one of my secret crafty weapons...tissue paper!

I inserted a piece of cardboard into the burlap bag before I started painting to prevent the paint and other mediums from bleeding onto the back of the bag. I then used gesso and acrylic paint to brush on a simple sky scape. I stamped the bird and tree pattern onto a piece of white tissue paper using Archival Ink. Next, I carefully cut the excess tissue paper from around the stamped image and applied the pieces onto the bag using gel medium.

Here is what the bag looked like after the tissue paper was sealed to the surface. Note: If you're not in to fussy cutting, you could certainly trim the full piece of tissue paper down to size, glue the larger image onto the bag, and then paint over the entire piece of tissue paper.

Here's a close-up of my painted bag. I filled this bag with bird seed and suet and plan to give this gift to a fellow bird lover. With the ride range of Susan K. Weckesser/Unity stamps, personalizing gift bags for friends is super fun and adds a personal touch that is sure to be appreciated.

Christmas Tags - Let it Snow!

My mother was looking at my scrap table when she was in town during Halloween and asked if I could make her some pretty Christmas gift tags (To and From tags) to put on her presents she was giving away this holiday season.  Here is the first set of tags I made for her.

For this set of tags I used the wonderful stamps from Susan K. Weckesser.  I have this wonderful stamp set from Susan K. Weckesser that is all about snow, and it has 3 stamps in it, so I used each stamp on each one of the tags.

Let it Snow

Good morning friends. Larissa here with a card for you today. With the holidays and crazy cold weather upon us I am using this cute stamp from Susan K Weckesser and Unity Stamp Co called

I started off stamping this adorable little snowman onto a piece of 110 lb white cardstock.
I then colored him with my Copic makers.

Found a couple pieces of pattern paper in my stash and adhered everything to a white cardbase.
I finished it off with a few red sequins and a piece of red. white and green twine.

Hope you enjoyed today's post. Don't forget to come back the rest of the week and see what these lovely ladies have created.

Have a wonderful week.

Thinking Of You

Today I am popping in with a quick and easy Susan K Weckesser project I made. Our theme this month is gifts for special people. So I decided to make a small banner with some fun products.
Let me apologize first for my pictures, I am not able to hang the banner like it will be displayed so I could take pictures.
 Banner piece #1
 Banner #2
Banner #3

I used kraft card stock paper to stamp my tags with a blue ink and just left them uncolored .Next I stamped the hearts in red and covered with liquid glass.
I received some fabulous products to use for this design team project

Decorative Clothespins White

 Canvas Shape - Flag

 Solid Navy on Ivory paper

Navy and Ivory dots paper

Hemp Rope Natural

Tattered Angels glimmer mist Jack Frost

I used a chicken wire  stencil for the background and used the glimmer mist for color.
Next I die cut a chicken wire pattern out of the solid paper and then layered an oval out of the dot paper.
Just added the tag and hearts with the clothespins.
Can't wait to share this with a friend.

In the garden of life...

Hi everyone!
I love my friends and I love letting them know how much I love them by making them a special card!
Can you feel the love?

Making handmade cards makes a person feel special, to know that time and attention was put into the crafting because they are important to you ...says a lot!

I just love this stamp, Sing Your Song, isn't it just the cutest?
After coloring it in with my Inktense pencils I find that the black ink isn't as bright so I add a little doodling around the image. :)
I also added some little feet too.

Then because I simply cannot help myself, I add some stitching doodles around the outside of the card for a border and a little bit on the sun using my Signo Uni-ball white pen. The white helps to tie in the sentiment which is printed out on white paper.

I hope you enjoyed my card and can make some time to make a special card for your friend to brighten their day!

Home Pennant

Hi! Dana here today sharing a canvas pennant that I created for my home. I'm an Air Force wife and move around a lot. My husband and I always tell our daughters that as long as we are together we are home. I started with a blank Canvas Corp Canvas Pennant and some Canvas Corp Rope and then added color with paint, stamps and Susan K. Weckesser patterned paper.

I used the Fly Away and Tumbleweed Houses stamp sets for the sun, cloud, the word "home," and the small house (below).

I colored the canvas with white, blue and pink acrylic paints. I added small circles of color using Yellow Clearsnap Smooch with a stencil and a white gel pen. I embellished several areas of the pennant with flowers and glass gems.

I stamped, cut and colored a small house to add to the bottom of this piece.

Bless our Nest

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today.

I created a 5 1/2" square card from brown cardstock, then using papers from the Live in Color collection, I randomly added Art Anthology Copper Sorbet paint through  The Crafter's Workshop  Beaded Curtain stencil.  Once dry, I finger painted more paint around the edges before mounting it on some white cardstock.  I wrapped some ribbon around the panel before adding it to the card.

"home" from Unity Stamp Co.'s Little Haven stamp set was stamped on the Live in Color Tag as was "Bless our Nest" from Unity Stamp's Grandma's Needlepoint stamp set.

The panel was then added to the card with foam adhesives for dimension.  A quick and easy card is the result.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Daughter with Tattered Angels

This is a picture of my sweet daughter Catherine and I playing around last spring.  She just loves to be tickled and to be held upside down, and the wonderful photographer caught me playing around with her to get her in a good mood for the pictures we were about to have. Sometimes it is the pictures you were not intending on taking are the best!!

I used lots of layers per my norm, I just love layers!! It adds such a depth to any project, keep it from being so flat even thought it still is mostly flat, as it is just paper and ink.  I used the center of my papers as the focus of the layout, and just let the beauty of the doily edge around the outside shine.

I love Susan K. Weckesser stamps, they work for so many projects.  Here are some of my favorite phrases.  One is "Celebrate the Simple Things" and boy is this true, never forget the little things that make life so full of joy!!  I used it here as a subtitle below some of the layers.  Here I also took the wonderful Glimmer Glam from Tattered Angels to paint the chipboard title "Daughter".

Espresso Bean- Glimmer Glam 1.35oz

Here I took two of the phrases from the stamp set below "Create your Day" and "Don't go through life grow though life"  as they both just work with this picture so wonderfully.  I stamped these along the side of the layers as seen in the picture above.

From the same above stamp set I also took the phrase stamp "Homegrown Love On the Home Front" as used it randomly around the page for lots of subtitles and also to add an even more distressed look to the page.
