Christmas Love ( and a Few Snowmen )

Deb here sharing one of my favorite holiday crafts - and a whole lot of love this season.. This month, Susan's Creative Team is sharing the ways that we are brightening someone's day. It could be a friend or maybe even a stranger. But we all know that the holiday season is hard for some and it only takes a small act of kindness to let someone know that they are not alone.. Share a bit of your creativity -- a card, some beads, a drawing or jewelry. Whatever it is that you make from your heart. For the past few years, I have been making these glitter ornaments and I think they are just beautiful. Of course, my boyfriend has a different opinion of glitter overall ! But if you ask me, what are the holidays without GLITTER !!! I paired my love of glitter with my love of Susan's snowmen and came up with these tags...

  • I started off with some Kraft tags and added a bit of glitter washi  across the bottom and Holiday washi down the right side.
  • From the Crate Paper "Snow Day Collection", I cut several different size squares out of the snowflake paper. I stapled the larger snowflake squares to a sentiment on the same size square and attached then to the left side of the tag along with a smaller square at the top of the tag.
  • The Snow Way stamp set has the cutest designs and seemed perfect for my tags. I used Colorbox Color Pop ink in Mystery to stamp the images and then colored them with a variety of my favorite markers. All elements were adhered using Tombow MONO Aqua Liquid Glue, except for the snowmen which were popped up using foam dimensionals.

  • I buy clear plastic or glass ornaments and Pledge Floor Care with Future. It has to have Future in it or else the glitter does not adhere as well to the sides of the ornament.
  • Using a funnel, put a small amount of Floor Care into the ornament and swirl it around to coat the entire inside. Pour the excess back into the bottle ( or small paper cup ) to reuse.
  • Place glitter into the ornament using either a funnel or else a paper cone. Swirl the glitter to coat the entire inside and then pour the excess out to re-use, I sometimes mix different colors of glitter so I don't waste any.
  • I use every kind/shape of ornament -  heart, oval, lightbulb, plain, patterned. Some of the prettiest have designs of snowflakes or patterns that show through when rest of the interior is coated with glitter.
  • Every kind of glitter can be used in these ornaments. I used Martha Stewart glitter for these but have also used less expensive glitter, tinsel glitter etc...

So, what am I going to do with my cute little tags, you ask ?? Well, two of the places that give me joy are the book store and the coffee shop. So I will be dropping off a few at each of those places to some booksellers and baristas. Several more will be left on a shelf or table for anyone to find.  I challenge each of you to share a bit of yourself this holiday season ( and all year long ) by creating something and giving it away.. I am doing this to continue in the spirit of the Christmas Love Campaign that was started by Susan K Weckesser to honor her late father. I hope that you will join me and brighten someone's day.

Thank you for visiting.. I hope that my project has inspired you.

Healing Banner with Love

Welcome! Peggy here and I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas holiday!
Today I would like to share with you a project close to my heart.  I am sharing some love to someone special just because...
Today's supplies used are :
Canvas Banner
DecoArt Acrylic Paint
Faber Castell Gelato
Golden Molding Paste
Putty Knife
Golden White Gesso
Prima Embellishments
White Cardstock
Copic Markers
Fiskars Trimmer
Sookwang Double Sided Tape

I prepared my canvas with white gesso before stamping and let completely dry.  I chose to stencil first. I used molding paste and colored it with acrylic paints then using a putty knife I stenciled the background using Susan's Doodle stencil.
Next I stamped images on to the background with blue gelato's and purple acrylic paints.
I stamped my words from the Journal Doodles with a Heart collection onto white cardstock and colored in using my copic pens.

I strung them all together using  a border stamp from the same collection vertically hung.
Using prima's natural bark shapes I colored and glued them in place.

I hope you have enjoyed my banner! Have a wonderful New Year!!

Sharing My Love This Christmas...

HAPPY, HAPPY HOLIDAYS Everyone!! (Can you Hear Me NOW?.. Grin)  I hope your December 25th was filled with friends, family, food and fun and that today you are enjoying a much deserved break and are able to fit in some play time, crafting time or what-ever-you-like-to-do-BEST time before this year ends.
Today, I am sharing with you some lovely, lovely christmas tags I created for my second design team project in December using the Susan K. Weckesser stamp set "World of Christmas" from Unity Stamps.

These stamps made it so easy to create some lovely vintage tags just by adding color, and I am using them to attach to bags of Christmas baking going out to random people as part of my journey on the 2015 Christmas Love Campaign.

I encourage you to join me in creating something, anything at all - big or small, to share with anyone just to "Share The Love" this holiday season.

Now, although these tags look complicated they were NOT! And they came together pretty easily using Ranger Distress Inks, a water brush to blend the colors, gel pens to highlight details and Ranger Stickles and Liquid Pearl to accent everything.

And I still find it magical how adding a shadow with my Copic markers just makes the images pop right off the page!I do Hope you enjoyed my projects this month and thank you for sharing a bit of my journey this 2015 Holiday Season. Have a delightful and joyful Day...

Snowman Christmas Tags

Hello friends. Larissa here today with some fun Christmas tags.
I just love this little snowman from ONE OF A KIND WINTER {CHRISTMAS CAMPAIGN}

I stamped the little snowman and sentiment on a few tags.

I colored them all with my Spectrum Noir markers. Then to finish off the tags I added some twine to the top that matched the colors on the tag.

These are going to look so cute on my Christmas packages. These are fun and easy tags to create for your gifts.

Hope you enjoyed my post today. I will be back after the New Year with more fun cards. Don't forget to check back until then to see what the amazing design team creates for you.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year friends.

She faced the world with a smile :)

Hi everyone!!!

Noe here to show you my newest project! As sure you know this month our theme is "Sharing Some Love" as we kick off the 2015 Christmas Love Campaign, and create something to gift someone.

I love making cards and leave in them all kinds of positive messages so here is my first project for this month!

To make the background I used my distress inks, applying them  with my Blending Tool ... Then I sprayed water on  "In my circle" stamp and I have lobbied over my color background.

With a die I made a small banner, I put double-sided tape on the back and applied glitter on the front, pressing gently to glue it!

Finally I painted the beautiful girl stamp with my Spectrum Noir markers and contoured the card stamping  "She faced the world with a smile" feeling that I like so much !!!!

I hope you like this card... It´s very easy to make!!

Hello, Peggy here and welcome to my tags of peace and joy.
today's supplies used are:
Susan K Weckesser Stamps World Of Christmas
Memento Black Ink
Cardstock
Tombow/Copic Markers
Embellishments
Twine/String
seam binding
glue
Embossing tools and supplies

I stamped both tag World of Christmas stamps onto white cardstock with memento black ink. Next I colored each tag with markers. I stamped JOY and Peace also from the same set and embossed JOY in gold and adhered down to some seam binding.
I added texture with embellishments using art ingredients bronze micro beads and beaded trim. I also used beads as a trim on her collar.

Here is the next stamp in this collection (World of Christmas). I colored the tag with my tombow and copic markers and added the Merry Christmas sentiment from the same set and cut it out. I happen to have a small flower piece of left over G45 paper I added to the top of the tag.
