The Earth Laughs in Flowers

Hello Everybody!  I am honoured to be posting today on the 29th of February for the Susan K. Weckesser design team and sharing these cards I created celebrating spring that I made using one of my very favorite Susan Weckesser/Unity Stamps stamp sets - "Create Your Day".
I stamped my images with Memento ink and colored them using my gel pens and then for some extra detail I doodled patterns inside the houses and clouds ...
Now if you follow me you already know that I am the QUEEN of fussy cutting and I definitely used all my cutting skills to cut out these wee images and then even had to fussy cut my foam pop dots to mount them... Grin... But it was so worth it, 'cuz just look at these awesome cards!
I hope you enjoyed my creations for this month and please do pop on over to MY BLOG to see even more images and bit more on my process.
Have a Wonderful February 29th!

Love Ya!

Hello crafty friends. I hope where ever you are the sun is shining and the birds are singing.
I love giving away cards I have made not just on days like birthdays but ordinary and quite random days. It's always nice to receive a surprise right? So here's a card I made . . . not sure who the recipient will be yet!

This card was my first time using this sweet girlie stamp. She was so lovely to colour in and to give this dreamy world to.
I began with a piece of 5in x 5in kraft card and painted the central area with gesso. Using the gesso keeps the colours bright. I experimented with a colour combination I hadn't used before. I think the coral and minty green worked well together. I then softened them by dry brushing some gesso over the top and then some painty splats and some stenciled dots. I love dots!!!
I drew the scallopy ground for her to stand on on an old book page and coloured using Brushed Corduroy distress ink. I stamped the clouds and coloured the same way. The girl was stamped on white card and coloured with Prismacolour pencils as were the flowers. A little bow and some paper flowers with pearly centers and faux stitching finished the card. I then glued it on to a white blank card of the same size. I got so lost in the process of this card I completely forgot about taking photos as I went a long which just shows I had lots of fun!!
Love Ya Whole Bunches can be found right here and is shown below:

The clouds and flowers are from the Create Your Day stamp set which can be found right here and is shown below:

I do hope you like my card and that I've inspired you a little.
Wishing you a lovely day.

Live in full Color- Mini by Shilpa

Hello Everyone, Shilpa here,

I've created this cute little mini for my daughter as gift :-)

I've used many design papers from Susan and Grunge love stamp set.

This lovely circle is cut out from "Live in color" Tags. I applied bit of distress inks with water on it and added enamel dots.

For this page, I painted background randomly with Ripe persimmon distress ink and water. Next I've cut out the blue flower from  "Live in Color" paper and on that stamped heart cut out shape.

here are other pages with same techniques and layering.

Susan has designed these awesome mixed media papers, they are great for these kinda projects.
Hope you got inspired today.
Thanks so much stopping by.

Bunny Pennant

Hi everyone!!

Noe here in this Wednesday! Today I would like to share with you a wonderful pennant for give to my best friend and garnish with it her beautiful room!

I painted my canvas pennant background with Gelatos, and mixed them with a watercolor brush. Then, I have outlined the edge with Doodle Stencil and Pink Sparkle Medium.

To finally my background, I have stamped differents Susan Stamps in different colors.

On the other hand, I have stamped too these beautiful flowers on watercolor paper and painted them with watercolors.
I also painted this adorable Bunny with my Spectrum Noir markers and  I stamped sentiment on a piece of cardstock that I cut with a framelit die.
Finally, I made two holes at the top, through which I passed a piece of ribbon to hang the pennant.

Spring is in the Air and So is LOVE...

Hello and Happy February people!  This month as the sun begins to warm the earth, the birds reappear and the buds on the trees begin to swell, our theme is "You Are My Friend" and we are showcasing cards about Love for our family and our friends.  Today I want to share a mixed media card I created using the "Bouquet" sheet from Susan K. Weckesser's Live in Color paper collection.

I love using this paper because it has so much body that I can shape the image that I cut out and it will hold the shape without flattening.  For this card I used a masking technique where I fussy cut my image and added my ephemera and then covered these with scraps of paper so when I created my inky background the image was protected.

I used a waterproof black pen to add doodles and to outline some items to make them pop as well as my aqua gel pen to create more interest and to add some pops of color.  All these techniques I learned from taking a wonderful hands-on doodling course with Susan Weckesser back in 2010 called "Do the Doodle" and it really changed my creative process for the better!

To get the wonderful washed background, I used a wet wipe to blend the spray ink after it had dried... wonderful isn't it?  Thank you for joining us today and please do leave a comment if you like what you are seeing!

Smile

Hello friends. Today I have a super fun creation for you. I created this door hanger using two of Susan K Weckesser newest stamps.

I used:

I painted 2 coats of paint on the door hanger. While it was drying I stamped all the images on a piece of white cardstock and colored them using my Copic markers.
I cut each image out using a pair of detail scissors.

I then adhered the images on the door hanger and attached a bow to the top.

I hope you enjoyed my post today.

Have a wonderful day.

Friendship Card

Hello! Welcome Peggy here to show you my friendship card made exclusively with Susan K Weckesser paper line. I chose my background paper and cut it to the size of my cardbase.
I used punches to make a lattice fence, butterfly and decorations for the house. I only needed two sheets of Susan's paper line as this fabulous paper is double sided.  I also accented with crystal lacquer and stickles.  I cut clouds and used a punch for the flower used as a sun.
Today's Susan K Weckesser Supplies:

Live, Love, Create paper found here: http://www.susankweckesser.com/product/livelovecreate/

I hope you have enjoyed today's friendship card and I encourage you to check out Susan's Products here: http://www.susankweckesser.com/shop/
Have a great day!

Friendship Smile Card

Hi all

Katie here, I am back with another project for design team blog and this month the focus is friendship. I used the Fly Away stamp set for this project http://susankweckesser.com/product/fly-away/

This time i used  the Bouquet 12x12 sheet.
I added the first layer of texture to the cards using a stencil mask.

I then used sunshine yellow ink to stamp the second layer of texture using the A Little Bit Washi set.
Using the Fly Away set i stamped out the images onto card and coloured them in before cutting them out.

Using the Grunge Fun set i stamped a few tows of stitches down the page.
I stamped #bff on the sun from the Grunge Fun set and stuck it to the card using 3d foam pads.
I then stuck two clouds down and added mini  pegs to the tops so it looks like they are hanging by a thread.

Thank you for visiting
Katie xx

If Friends Were Flowers

Hello crafty friends.
It's Samantha here with my first February make and it's a card for a friend :)

My card is ATC sized which is 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches. So it's quite small but it say's so much.
Inside it says 'I'd pick you'.
I started this sweet card by die cutting some circle confetti from white card and gluing in diagonal corners. When that glue was dry I used some of my favourite colours and painted the background. To give the background more layers I stenciled some white circles and coordinating flowers. I then stamped the flower directly on the card and on a separate piece of white card as shown...

By stamping on the card I could then go around the outline with a charcoal pencil. This makes the flower 'pop' a little from the colourful background. I coloured the flower using Prismacolor pencils.
I stamped the text using a random alphabet stamp set. We all have those right?

For the flowers I used the Journal Doodles with a Heart stamp set which can be found right here.

I do hope you like my little card and that I have inspired you just a little.
Wishing you a lovely day.
