Pan Pastels & Premium Craft Brand & Me

Tile 2

I LOVE COLOR!

I LOVE PLAYING with color….and experimenting, and layering, and pushing it to the very limits! If you know my artwork and my style you know I tend to be curious and just because something doesn’t say that I can’t do it… doesn't mean that I am not doing try it! And if worse comes to worse….I am married to a fire man so if it goes up in flames….  And that is exactly why I love layering different wonderful products from Ranger Ink, Ice Resin, Prima Marketing, Clear Snap, i love to create, Faber Castell, and so many other wonderful manufactures that have cool products that make my {HEART} and imagination soar! Because I can and I always get really neat results!  That is why, when last week I was given the opportunity to be a Premium Craft Brands Educator on the PanPastel UK Blog I was delighted because like the companies that I am already an Endorsed Educator with, Ranger Ink and  Helmar, I truly admire the companies, and the products. I love working with them, creating new things and sharing what I am creating with other people.

I have taught classes, written and created many projects with Pan Pastels, but I really am thrilled to be working with Premium Craft Brands on this level and I sure hope that you check out there wonderful site and blogs. You can find their site HERE. Lots of COLOURFUL sweetness!

Feel free to grab the blinkie

PANPASTEL on ceramic tiles!?Tile 1

Why Not!?

Use something like a watermark resist or Emboss IT pen from Ranger Ink and layer it down with a decoupage medium like a Mod Podge or Helmar’s Decoupage and Craft Paste. The colours shine through and are SO vibrant!

Tile 3

Vintage papers and pattern pieces look very cool when layered in. This is really fun and easy to do! So COME and PLAY!!!!! Give it a try! *grin*

Back to School Blog Hop sept2013
Welcome to the 2013 Susan K Weckesser Inc Design Team Back 2 School Blog Hop.   Back 2 School for the kiddos sometimes means a little extra “ME” time for us parents.  It also brings routines back to our day-to-day lives, though I realize for some this is more shuttle service for some of us!

Back 2 School can also be a great opportunity for art and crafts for yourself or with your kids.  Our Design Team and Guest Designers have created a week’s worth of great projects to bring you inspiration and fun all themed around Back 2 School.   We encourage you to visit each member’s blog and leave a comment and maybe find a new blog to follow.   After you have visited all the team member’s blogs, come back to THIS POST and leave a comment below letting us know which project either inspired you or touched your heart.   Don’t worry, you have all week to take your time and go through the blogs.   We’ll feature a few each day here at Susan K Weckesser Inc, but will draw names from comments left on this post for our grand prize.

Here are projects designed by Susan K Weckesser to start us of with a bang!

“Back to school is such a fun time of year and you can make so many neat crafty projects at this time of year. You can take Back to School products and re-craft them into neat new gifts to give someone or you can make something new to give a student or teacher who is going to school.

First Project.  ( I up-crafted a pencil holder. I made some Ice Resin paper with my painted sentiment stamps and stitched the paper onto the pencil holder that I fancied up with ribbon, charms and a vintage picture of my aunt.)

I also made a little wall frame for a neighbor's child first day of school with some Live in Color paper and a recycled frame.”

Hmmm…. I think I have a thing for little houses! *grin*
I really like playing with and creating collages. So…what are collages anyway?
col·lage
/kəˈläZH/ :
Noun
  1. A form of art in which various materials such as photographs and pieces of paper or fabric are arranged and stuck to a backing.
  2. A composition made in this way.
  3. sometimes include newspaper clippings, ribbons, bits of coloured or handmade papers, portions of other artwork or texts, photographs and other found objects, glued to a piece of paper or canvas.  *source: Wikipedia A white sphere made of large jigsaw pieces. Letters from several alphabets are shown on the pieces
It is fun to sit down with a whole bunch of random articles , put them onto a canvas, paper or card and to try to tell a story with them. A creative puzzle. Here is a collage that I worked on the other day with some of my Susan K. Weckesser Inc. products. Mixed Media Blog Hop CK SKWeckesser
Yup….there’s is a little house again! For this collage I have used photocopied vintage pictures of my family, old book pages, cardboard cut-outs, stickers, washi tape, stamps, Tim Holtz Distress Paint, Kuretake ink and pens.
I just adore this old picture of my grandmother. Isn't she cute!?Mixed Media Blog Hop CK SKWeckesser 4I love to layer papers and stamps, colors and mediums.Mixed Media Blog Hop CK SKWeckesser 5Stickers are super fun & easy to use on a collage.
Mixed Media Blog Hop CK SKWeckesser 6I often come back to a collage and add things like this corner piece that I stapled on.Mixed Media Blog Hop CK SKWeckesser 7
You can never make a mistake when creating a collage…how cool is that! *smile*

What is YOUR Definition of True Love?

Hello EVERYONE!  Lynne here today and this week I wanted to share with you a scrapbook page and to explain why I scrapbook and why it gives me so much joy.  It's because scrapbooking is my way of creating a tangible record of the moments in my life that I want to remember in detail.  And I know for a fact that you THINK you're going to remember these special moments forever, but unless you have a photo and the story written down somewhere - you WON'T remember - especially the details. This page called LIZARD LOVE represents the "Why" of my scrapbooking perfectly, because the photo does not give you the back story but the scrapbooked page does.  And I wanted this page to memorialize forever the moment I realized just how much my husband really loves me:

THE BACKSTORY:  I LOVE Creepy Crawly things, snakes, spiders and lizards ( I always have) but my big, burly raised-in-the-country Husband DOES NOT!  And on this afternoon in Mexico we ended up at an Iguana Farm - and the ONLY reason he went in was because he knew just how much I wanted to go!
Now the "farm" was an enclosure about the size of a small backyard, totally covered in chicken wire, even the roof had chicken wire on it, so you felt totally TRAPPED once you got in, and there were cell-like enclosures each containing a different stage of the development of the Iguana, starting with the eggs and leading up to the adults.  The adult lizards had the largest cell because there were about 100 of them and we were the ONLY ones in there... (have you got the picture yet?)

Now I don't know if you have ever been around a LOT of iguana's all at once, but it is kinda creepy, because all the adults turn to look at you at almost the same time, and then they FREEZE staring at you... NOT moving  a muscle, not even blinking! It is totally intense, and SUPER Creepy even if you LIKE them.  But my husband not only went in ... he even took some photos of me when I got to hold one of the babies ... and you can tell by the look on my face just how much I LOVE baby lizards!

When we left the farm and were once again safely in the back seat of our hired car, I got a look at my husband's face and realized just what an AMAZING thing he had done for me... and it was at that  moment when I really KNEW that money can't buy everything because no amount of money could ever buy me the gift he had given me that day and Forever... because for me This is TRUE GROWN-UP ADULT LOVE!

So in the crazy, busy lives we lead today I really encourage you to stop and take an hour to record some of those truly meaningful moments you have with your friends and family because it will be really, really worth it one day!
Cheers!
