Image (1)
I am SO super EXCITED to Welcome you to our  first ever Susan K. Weckesser Inc. Design Team Blog Hop with Unity Stamp Design Team!
So…What did I create?
WeckesserUnitybloghop1
I had fun creating some Christmas Cards…in an artsy kind of way. *grin*
Grandmas Needlepoint 1
I LOVE how you can change up colors, textures, and backgrounds when you play with stamps and by doing that you can change the SEASON of the stamp. I used my stamp set, Grandma’s Needlepoint for this card. I even had fun embossing some stitches on the bottom edge of the card. I used some fun, colorful paper from Fancy Pants and made a whimsical greeting card. LOVE the colors…. they make me smile!

Oh…… and don’t forget the SMOOCH from Clearsnap!
One more card using my Susan K. Weckesser co-branded Unity Stamp kit – Autumn Grunge & Painted Sentiments.

I created this card using very neutral colors.

I stamped and embossed some of the leaves on tissue paper from Canvas Corp. I love the effect you get from stamping on tissue. Super cool!WeckesserUnitybloghop5
The beautiful paper that I used is from Fancy Pants and Simple Stories. To add a little extra WOW  to the card I distressed the edges of the paper with some Color Box bronze pigment ink from Clear Snap.WeckesserUnitybloghop6
I used the same ink and stamped a word on tissue paper. Using Helmars Decoupage & Craft Paste I adhered the leaves and word strip down. I also added a few cute red buttons.

Homegrown Love on the Home Front

Home and family has been much in my thoughts lately as it always is during the Christmas season, and this year I feel especially blessed to be a part of the  Susan K. Weckesser DT Family and the Christmas Love Campaign... an Idea I Totally Agree with.... Share the LOVE!  So for this post I created a little card that is a bit different than my usual style.  I want the person who receives this card to feel like they are sitting in a lovely, warm room looking out onto a cold, frosty but sunny winter day... and life is good!  To create this card I used two of the Susan K. Weckesser stamps sets, Create Your Day and Let it Snow both by Unity Stamps.

I stamped and colored my images with my copic markers and then cut them out and arranged them on a piece of Susan’s “Live in Color” patterned paper, which I white washed over with a thin layer of watered down white acrylic paint and then cut to fit inside my window die cut.  I popped my snowman slightly to give some dimention to the scene.

I then inked and distressed the window frame die cut and using foam pop dots, adhered it over top of my “outdoor” image.

I attached the entire window to the card stock I had picked out for my card and
Using paper piecing techniques I cut out a vase for my flowers and arranged it on the windowsill, to which I added the banner from the Create Your Day stamps set because I think it just adds such a touch of whimsy!

I finished off my card by adding some hand-drawn stitching and the sentiment from the Create Your Day stamps set which fit the tone of my card perfectly… and VOILA…

A pretty little card with a bit of a difference -  Enjoy!

There is a Blog Hop Going on over at Helmar & Authentique

AuthentiqueHelmarWeckesser3

I missed the Authentique & Helmar Blog hop because I have had the flu. I wanted to post what I created for it anyways because I really had fun playing with the beautiful paper and of course Helmars adhesives!

The paper that I used where from Authentique’s ‘Peaceful Collection’.

AuthentiqueHelmarWeckesser1

I started by taking a piece of cardstock and sponging the sides with PanPastels. To set the PanPastel, I used Helmars Crystal Kote Fixative spray.

AuthentiqueHelmarWeckesser4

I then cut out pieces of Authentique’s beautiful paper and started to layer. I glued buttons, doilies, and some of the paper on with Helmar’s 450 Quick Dry Adhesive. Other pieces of paper, I just stapled on to give a whimsical and aged effect.450 Quick Dry Adhesive 4.23 fl.oz

AuthentiqueHelmarWeckesser5

To create dimension, I used Helmars Zapdots ,and then I tucked some more paper pieces and buttons underneath. I always love to create an aged look, so I took out my Tim Holtz Distressed Crackle Paint and I had fun roughing up the edges.

I wanted to age the paper doily a bit, so I used Clearsnap gold smooch. I used just a bit to color up the edges.

Oh, and the picture I used is actually one of my own that I took with my IPhone and then had it printed at Social Print Studio. Super fun and cute to do!

Wake up,wake up everyone . . . it`s time to start creating your day!

It`s Tracy here today with a little funky altered art project to share with you all.
This is how this little project started off -
Kind of sad, but not for long after using a little Susan K Weckesser  Live, Love, Create double sided paper for the background.
Followed by a quick smudge of white acrylic paint to give a slight whimsical feel and a little cutting up of the beautiful Live in Colour tags.
I also added a little Stamp n Stuff clear embossing powder to add a little shine.
It`s a rather grey day here in Scotland, so I made a little sunshine to brighten my day with a stamp from
A quick forage in the garden to pick some twigs for that homegrown fence, fixed in place with Rangers Glossy Accents.
The logs are burning in the hearth and the smoke is flying out the chimney with the help of a little more Smooch . . . I loooove smooch!
Stamp out the sentiment Create Your Day and with a fine Black liner pen add a little stitching and detail to all the elements.
My attention then turned to the casing.
I popped on a coat of Tim Holtz Adirondack Alcohol ink, Sail Boat Blue using the alcohol ink applicator tool and felt.
Then I added a little Sunshine Yellow and Red Pepper alcohol ink, tapping with the applicator tool until I was happy with the result.
To finish the clock I used a small pokey tool and made three holes on the left hand side, attached Tim Holtz Idea-ology mini gears sprockets to some rusty wire, fixed in place with a hot glue gun.
 Finishing with the sentiment
"Don`t go through life, grow through life"
I hope you have enjoyed my wake up,wake up project today and hopefully I have inspired you to have a go yourself!
Psssst....
The Christmas Love Campaign tag challenge has been extended to the 27th and if that`s not enough
Rhona Designs also has a challenge up... woohoo!
Go check it out we would love to see what you create and sharing some love.
Till next time

Whimsical Tags for Christmas Love Campaign

Did you hear that the Christmas Love Campaign Tags Challenge was extended to Nov 27?   I did, so I whipped up a few.   I really had fun making these adorable, bright, happy, whimsical tags.
I used papers by Susan K Weckesser Inc.  I chose a paper that I had torn to create a previous project and still had left over.   I scored the paper at 4 5/8”
After folding, I used Tim Holtz Tag & Tie by die and placed the fold just above the bottom edge of the die so that it would not cut where I folded.
After running the papers and die through my Big Shot, I had a few torn & folded custom tags.
I loved the sunshine peeking out and decided to make a snowman on a sunny day.  It can happen, right?   I used a variety of Unity stamps cobranded with Susan K Weckesser Inc to stamp different images.  I then used Pan Pastels to color in my snowman and add even more color to the tags.
My sister-in-law was here with me and saw this pom-pom ribbon in my stash and thought they would make cute snowballs.   She was so right, too.
Isn’t it adorable?
I used more stamps, Pan Pastel colors, Faber Castell, stencils, and Archival Inks to color and stamp my other two tags.
I colored these images with Faber Castell Big Brush Pens and PITT pens to color in the bird and flowers.   The “Create to Live” was cut from another piece of Susan K Weckesser Inc’s papers.
I loved this one.   It just made me happy using Susan K Weckesser’s a little bit washi stamps as well as actually using washi paper to close my folded tag.  The little pockets on the tags can be used to place a personalized note, smaller tag, or little card.
Now, I’m going to give these away this weekend and then share my tags on the Christmas Love Campaign Facebook page.   You still have a few days to join us for this challenge.
For those of you in the US, have a Happy Thanksgiving today!
