"Expedition" Artwork by Shilpa

Hello Everyone, Shilpa here
I've created artwork with Cityscape stamp from "The Purpose of Art Stamp set" designed by Susan Weckesser.

Let's see the making process...

I started working on watercolor paper. I used Twinkling H2Os in purple, pinks, orange and red. It is wet on wet technique.

Next I stamped Cityscape on another watercolor paper and adhered on colored one. I also attached Prima lace on it.

To get colors on houses, I used Faber Castell design memory craft Aquarelle pencils and waterbrush
I made small circles on the background using bottle cap with white and purple ink.

I adhered flower, bow and die cut word- expedition and matted it all on suitable design papers.

Hope you liked and got inspired with my small artwork.
Susan has designed many stamp images including pretty houses...go get them!!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Journaling Fun with Susan K Weckesser Products

Hello fellow crafters! I hope you're having a fantastic day! Today is my first post for the Susan K Weckesser Inc. Design Team and I am in love with her products. I am showing my journal cover that I have been waiting to do until the journal was filled so it would lay flat while I was working on the inside.

First I covered the edges of my journal with white gesso. Then I cut down my paper to fit inside the white painted lines and taped down my designer paper with double sided tape.  Any edges that were lifting I squeezed in some glue for permanency.

Next it was time to go to town on the stencils. I used acrylic paints as well as gesso with my stencils.
I painted the words Live In Color with all the colors of the rainbow.  I like to doodle as well so I took my pen and doodled to my heart's content.

I used Stazon Ink to stamp my image several times on different papers and fussy cut them out.

Below I decided to try something a little different. I recently purchased some shrink film and I used Stazon inks to stamp some images on. I used a heat tool to shrink my pieces and I adhered them to the cover using lacquer medium. You could also use clear glue.
Below shows the difference in size.
Here it is all put together! I had so much fun just letting the creativity flow without overthinking!
This was so much fun, I love the papers and stamps. The focal house is a fabulous stamp

I hope you enjoyed my journal cover! Head on over to the store and have a look around!
Warmly,
Peggy

Daughter with Tattered Angels

This is a picture of my sweet daughter Catherine and I playing around last spring.  She just loves to be tickled and to be held upside down, and the wonderful photographer caught me playing around with her to get her in a good mood for the pictures we were about to have. Sometimes it is the pictures you were not intending on taking are the best!!

I used lots of layers per my norm, I just love layers!! It adds such a depth to any project, keep it from being so flat even thought it still is mostly flat, as it is just paper and ink.  I used the center of my papers as the focus of the layout, and just let the beauty of the doily edge around the outside shine.

I love Susan K. Weckesser stamps, they work for so many projects.  Here are some of my favorite phrases.  One is "Celebrate the Simple Things" and boy is this true, never forget the little things that make life so full of joy!!  I used it here as a subtitle below some of the layers.  Here I also took the wonderful Glimmer Glam from Tattered Angels to paint the chipboard title "Daughter".

Here I took two of the phrases from the stamp set below "Create your Day" and "Don't go through life grow though life"  as they both just work with this picture so wonderfully.  I stamped these along the side of the layers as seen in the picture above.

From the same above stamp set I also took the phrase stamp "Homegrown Love On the Home Front" as used it randomly around the page for lots of subtitles and also to add an even more distressed look to the page.
