Hello There from Alberta, Canada!
Welcome to the Creating Keepsakes Mixed Media Blog Hop!
How COOL is this! I LOVE MIXED MEDIA and I really am excited to be part of this wonderful volume, jammed packed full of creative AWESOMENESS! Not to mention….how cool is this blog hop!
If you follow my work and my wonderful Susan K. Weckesser Inc. Design Team you know that I & we love to dabble a little in everything. I personally love mixed media because I find it to be so healing and uplifting. It truly is a way for me to unwind after a hectic day, let my soul recharge, and my heart soar! Here is a sneak peak of my work that you are going to find in this fun Creating Keepsakes Issue.
Hmmm…. I think I have a thing for little houses! *grin*
I really like playing with and creating collages. So…what are collages anyway?
col·lage
/kəˈläZH/ :
Noun - A form of art in which various materials such as photographs and pieces of paper or fabric are arranged and stuck to a backing.
- A composition made in this way.
- sometimes include newspaper clippings, ribbons, bits of coloured or handmade papers, portions of other artwork or texts, photographs and other found objects, glued to a piece of paper or canvas. *source: Wikipedia
Yup….there’s is a little house again! For this collage I have used photocopied vintage pictures of my family, old book pages, cardboard cut-outs, stickers, washi tape, stamps, Tim Holtz Distress Paint, Kuretake ink and pens.
I just adore this old picture of my grandmother. Isn't she cute!?I love to layer papers and stamps, colors and mediums.Stickers are super fun & easy to use on a collage.
I often come back to a collage and add things like this corner piece that I stapled on.

I don't use mixed media much in my scrapbooking because I don't really know how to do a lot of the techniques. I'm sure this issue will be helpful! bernice.janssen@prrd.ab.ca

ReplyDeleteI've never been big on mixed media but have dabbled a bit with embellishments that are already created with "mixed media" (does that count?). I am enjoying this blog hop and will finish visiting all the remaining sites (including CK). Thanks for sharing. harmonta@aol.com
ReplyDeleteI admire mixed media sooooooo much and would love to get the courage to try it. I guess I do a tiny bit of it, but not the "real" mixed media, like you do! I am really hoping to win a copy of this magazine to get even more inspiration!!!! How lovely of you to offer it to one of us!
ReplyDeleteI have one more stop on this very fun hop. Thanks for participating. This was my first visit to your blog. Wonderful projects. My eyes had a feast here today!
