Eat, Drink, Breathe, Live in Color

Hi! This is Valerie Reyes again, here to share a second project with you. This is another scrapbook title page.

I was inspired by one of Susan's patterned papers: Live in Color

I started by coloring in the phrase with Faber Castell Gelatos and a water brush. I fussy cut the phrase and started to build my page with layering and layout more like the style of my typical scrapbook pages than my first project for the My Sweet Earth blog. I used the b sides of Live, Love, Create and Color Burst on the page as well. I used gesso to tone down the pattern a bit to give myself a space to write, and made the ruffled pink paper using some crepe paper I had left over from a party.
I outlined the elements in black to give a little more definition to the title and the flower cut from the Live in Color paper.
I did make a bit of a mistake placing my words when I was writing.  Gesso to the rescue! A couple of layers and you can't even see the "in" above the word chaos.

Thanks for stopping by! I'd love to see what you're doing with Susan K. Weckesser's beautiful products.

Spring has come!

Hi everyone!
DT MIYAKE here.

Spring slipped up on us unawares.

Beautiful spring.....
I wanted to keep it forever.

I captured mobile case spring.

Feels like Home....

As I wrote the title of the post, I had to pause at how perfect that title was.

This team and Susan feel like home to me. :)

Today, I want to share with you this 8x10 canvas I made using Susan's Stamps for Unity and paper from Studio Calico.

The hills were made by cutting, stamping and then shading the green grid paper from Studio Calico. I actually used plain, old Sharpie markers for the shading on the hills.

For the fence, I used the fence part of the house stamp and stamped it three times on the brown grid paper.

To Make the house, I stamped the house numerous times on different patterns of paper and then cut them out. I used the polka dot paper for the base and just layered the other pieces on top.

My "sun" is actually a foam stamp flower from Claudia Hellmuth that I stamped with yellow modeling paste and added some doodles (just for fun!)

My clouds are made with gelatos by Faber-Castell through a circle stencil.

The Studio Calico paper was perfect with the lines flowed because it looked like sun-rays!

I hope you enjoyed my little project today and remember to take time every day to be creative!

XOXO,
KERI
