Scraps and a Tag Card

  I love tags.  Tags to hang on things.  Tags as stand alone art.  Tags added to a card.  Today I am using more goodies from my scrap bin.

I stamped a tea stained tag with the owl from the Going Wild stamp set.

The little tiny heart is from the Heart-FULL Homes stamp set.

I cobbled some tiny colored paper strips out from the side of the tag and hand-lettered my sentiment.

I added a scrap of ribbon.

And used a brush to brush some color with Perfect Pearls along his feet.

Home Where Our Story Begins

Hello friends. Larissa here with you today. I am using two different stamp sets from
Susan K Weckesser. 

First I used one of the little houses from 

Tumbleweed Houses. 

Secondly I used the three mushrooms and leaves stamp from
What's Up Gnomey? 

I stamped the leaves over the entire card front with Stampin Up Slate Gray ink. I stamped some off first on a piece of scratch paper then onto the card front. 

I then stamped the mushrooms down at the bottom of the card using Stampin Up Real Red Ink. I stamped the house in the middle of the mushrooms using Colorbox® Color Pop Archival Dye Ink by Susan K. Weckesser in Mystery.

I colored the leaves using Prismacolor Pencil in True Green.
For the mushrooms and grass I used Distress Inks in Mowed Lawn and Peeled Paint. The house I used Distress Ink Weathered Wood. 

For the sentiment: I actually have seen this sentiment on a few signs in friends homes and I thought it would fit perfectly. So I wrote it across the card front.

To my cool friend card tutorial

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my Cool friend card tutorial made for Susan K. Weckesser blog. This is a Mixed Media background card with Susan K. Weckesser sweet images and a lovely sentiment and it perfectly fits this month theme.

So here is how I made this card:

1. Use texture paste over the Rebecca Baer small sized Snow Flurries stencil . This size of  stencil is just perfect for the cards.

Let the paste dry.

2. Add a mix of Tattered Angels mists over the dry  stencilled image. Wait between the layers unless you want to get a " mad" over your card.

3.Stamp the couple of snowmen using Susan's Unity co-branded Snow Way stamps and her Sky Clearsnap ColorBox Color Pop Mini ink. Stamp each image twice as we're going to make some paper piecing later.
Stamp the To my cool friend sentiment too for the future use.

4. Color the images with Zig Real Color Brushes and then cut the pieces that we will use for a 3d effect.

4. And this is how the pieced and arranged images look on the finished card. All card was misted with golden mist , so the colors are slightly different after all.

And this is a finished card- the background white card and the  Mixed Media background were die cut with Elizabeth Crafts Stitched rectangles dies and I added a few random golden sequins.

A Halloween Hello

Hello friends. Larissa here today with a fun Halloween Hello card. I love What's up Gnomie. He is one of my favorite stamps. I think I have used him for just about every holiday there is. Today I paper pieced his outfit using some Halloween theme pattern paper. I love this pack of paper from Doodlebug.

I stamped the image on a piece of white cardstock and colored his face and beard with Copic markers.

I then stamped the image again on a piece of pattern paper. I trimmed that piece out right next to the stamped line. I then glued that piece on the white piece of cardstock.

I gave the bottom of his outfit a little shading with my C3 Copic maker.

I cut a piece of black cardstock with a medium oval die to place behind Gnomie to made him pop off the pattern paper.

To finish off the card front I grabbed my Hello die and cut it out of a piece of purple cardstock and added a little clear glitter.

I adhered everything to the white cardbase using my ATG.

Mushroom Smiles By Steph

Hi everyone, Steph here and  I've used the amazing What's Up Gnomey? stamp set and the newest Colorbox® Color Pop Archival Dye Ink by Susan K. Weckesser.  This is an amazing stamp set and I love the ink pads - they are amazing colors.

 

I began by stamping the mushrooms on a panel of white cardstock using Mystery Ink.  I wanted to add color to the mushrooms so I used a water brush and added color with  Cocoa and Fresh Inks.  Next, I stamped some rocks under the mushrooms with Cocoa ink.

 

Using Fresh ink, I created some grass under the mushrooms, then using Sky ink I washed in the sky, leaving some white areas as if clouds were about.

I used the leaves as raindrops, stamping them with Mystery Ink.  The panel was then matted with blue cardstock then added atop a red card.  Smile, from A Little Bit Washi, was stamped in Mystery Ink, inked with Sky and matted with blue cardstock.

For additional dimension, Smile was added to the card with foam adhesives.

Going Wild with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my first small tutorial post for September made with Susan K. Weckesser products.

I was not sure what this project will be, but it became the Mixed Media card. 

So here are all step for your inspiration:

1. Die cut the thick white cardstock with stitched rectangle die and paint with 4 different paints from Tattered Angels range. As you can see I didn't even use the green color, but the mix made it green with just a bit of other colors seen.

2. Die cut the circle from the painted panel with Die Versions die.

3. Use Susan's Doodle stencil and ColorBox Color Pop Snow ink to add some borders to the card.Let it dry or use your heat gun as this is pigmented ink.

   

4. Going Wild co- branded with Unity Susan's  set Fox was stamped with Color Pop mini Cocoa ink and hand cut later.

5. And this is a finished card.

The sentiment was stamped with the same Snow ink over the card.As this ink is pigmented let it dry for a few minutes or use your heat gun.

The fox was painted with Zig Real Brush colors and covered with glaze.

I also added the faux stitching with white pen inside the circle.

Home Is Where You Plant Your Flower Seeds - A Special Card By Lynne Mizera

Happy Day Peeps!  Lynne here with my second project this month for the Susan K. Weckesser Creative Team.  Today I am sharing this wonderful card I created for a family member who has just moved into their life long dream of owning a home on an acreage in the Rocky Mountians of Alberta... Swoon!

Using the What's Up Gnomey Unity Stamp set and a sheet of Susan's Bouquet card stock I stamped, colored, fussy cut and assembled this very special card in record time!

I love creating with the Mr. Gnomey stamp set because he comes with so many accessories that it is like playing paper dolls with a gnome...

And there is something about that saying which just resonates with me... because for me Home really IS all about "Where You Plant Your Flower Seeds."

I used my Copic markers to color in my stamped images and of course some Ranger's Stickles and Liquid Pearls to add interest and sparkle.

And I popped Mr. Gnomey off the page using foam pop dots so that he was the centre piece... but then I did something just a wee bit different which turned this card into a Gift....

I created wee packages of flower seeds from my own garden this summer and taped them to the inside of the card. Now my family members can start their own garden next year using some of the seeds from our garden... How SWEET is that?!

She Faced the World With A Smile - A Card By Lynne Mizera

Happy September 1st to all you wonderful and creative followers. September? Now how did that happen?  I know I am not the only one who has been broadsided by just how fast the year 2016 is flying by, but HOW did it get to be September already?!  Today I am honoured to be the Susan K. Weckesser creative team member here at the My Sweet Earth blog who is introducing our September theme of "You Are My Friend". 

All of September the creative team will be showcasing cards about friendship, family and love, because:

"Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much." Helen Keller

 Here is the card I created:

I had so much fun creating this card using Susan's "Love Ya Whole Bunches" stamp set... and here is how I did it!

I stamped my image three times using Ranger Archival waterproof ink.  I always give myself three images so that way I feel like have lots of room for color choices and any little mistakes. I used my Angora watercolors and a water brush to fill in the color...

And then I went back in with my gel pens to add details to her eyes, dress and flower and I used colored pencils to give her hair some texture.

Here she is really close Close-up so you can see all the wonderful details... 

The sun and cloud and bird are from Susan's "Create Your Day" Unity stamp set and the wonderful flowers by her feet (which I filled in with gel pens and stickles) are from the Unity Stamp set "Journal Doodles With A Heart". A bit of fibre, some foam pop dots and few more gel pen details and it was done!

I am taking the time this month to make a few cards for those people who make my life richer and then I am making sure they know that!  Because even though I know I think of them often I want to make sure that they know how much they bring to my world. Alfred Tennyson said it so beautifully when he wrote:

 "If I had a flower for every time I thought of you... I could walk through my garden forever."
