There's snow people like snow people

Hello crafty friends! 

Sam here with a very sparkly make perfect for your Christmas tree.

Firstly an apology as I got so carried away with this cute little snow person that I totally forgot to take photos until he was finished!

I began with a tin tea light holder as a base and gave it a couple of coats of gesso and then finally a coat of white paint to get a nice finish. I used a pink piece of paper and stamped the snowflake and white embossed for the background. Some Martha Stewart silver glitter was then glued to the edges along with some silver sequin starts and finally a silver pipe cleaner was stuck in place to finish the background.

I stamped the snow person on white card and coloured with Pro Markers adding a little glitter to the stars I then glued him/her in place.

My finishing touches were the text and a pink crystal flower and of course some silver thread to hang with.

Let It Snow

Hello friends. It is the season for giving. I love making cards year round and sending them to my family and friends. This time of year is my favorite. I have a passion for Christmas cards. I guess you can say it is my favorite holiday.
Today I am using this absolutely fun little snowman.

This is "One of a Kind Winter"

I stamped the image on a piece of watercolor paper using Versafine Onyx Black Ink. I then used my Sakura Koi watercolors to color the image. I used a couple different shades of blue and gray for the background and then just a red and green for the hat and scarf.

I did add some glitter with a glitter pen to his hat and scarf you just can't tell from the picture.

I have already started making some tags for some homemade baking goods and I plan on using this stamp as well. I just love him.

"Let it Snow" Puzzle Cards

For Christmas this year we decided to give a trip for our kids and not gifts, so to reveal this fun present to our kids we had them each open 3 presents (the cards below) with clues of where we were going, so 9 clues total were opened at an early Christmas present opening with my parents.  On each card I wrote a portion of a sentence giving a clue of where we were going.  It reads, "For this Christmas our present to all of you is to spend our time together having fun and lots of cheer.  So bring your magic and your swim suits for we are going to a very special place full of lots of wonder and joy."  

On the back side of the cards were numbers stating which row the card was in (to make it a bit easier) and a letter or two that they had to arrange to spell the words "Great Wolf Lodge".  The screams of excitement were deafening as they figured out where we were going.

The cards each measure 4 x 4 inches, so once together it creates a 12 x 12 page.  The colors of the papers and the cute diecuts were just perfect for this little project!!

 

 

For some of the cards I used the super cute "Let it Snow" stamp set from Susan K. Weckesser.  The snowman and phrase were just a perfect fit for these papers.

So even thought there are not true presents to be opened this year, our trip is worth so many more memories than any toy can give.

Christmas Tags - Let it Snow!

My mother was looking at my scrap table when she was in town during Halloween and asked if I could make her some pretty Christmas gift tags (To and From tags) to put on her presents she was giving away this holiday season.  Here is the first set of tags I made for her.

For this set of tags I used the wonderful stamps from Susan K. Weckesser.  I have this wonderful stamp set from Susan K. Weckesser that is all about snow, and it has 3 stamps in it, so I used each stamp on each one of the tags.

A Christmas Gnomey

Good morning friends. Larissa here with a gnome Christmas. By now you know how much I love this little gnome. I could not wait to get started on Christmas with him. 

So today I stamped him on a piece of 110 lb white cardstock and colored him with my Copic markers. I used for his skin E000, E00 and R20. For his suit I used R24, R27, R29 and a little R39. For his hair I used C3. and finally I used G28 to color the little flower in his hand. 

I used a piece of pattern paper and matted it with a piece of red cardstock. I adhered everything to a white card. 

I already plan on using him on a lot more Christmas things. So watch for him.

Christmas Themed Family Layout

Hello!  I hope you are enjoying your day.  It's Lee-Anne here and today I have a Christmas themed layout to share with you using Susan's awesome stencil, a snowman stamp for the vellum snowman embellishment,  that I can't seem to get enough of, and some patterned papers from Canvas Corp. I also sprayed some Tattered Angels Chalkboard Mist in Ferrari Red,  as well as some twine on the banner from May Arts.   The sketch was designed by Karan Gerber.

Merry Christmas Card

Every year I love to hand make Christmas cards, some I make quick and easy and some I spend more time on, it really depends on who I am giving them to knowing if they will keep them or not.  My mother and mother in Law always keep the cards, tags, and such that I make so I love giving them my special ones.

Here to went with a monotone color scheme, green.  I then added in colors of beige, gold, and grey to match with the papers I was using.  I wanted to give lots of texture, so I added in the wonder burlap tag by Canvas Corps in my layers, plus some corrugated paper from Fancy Pants in grey.  I then added in lots of layers of patterned paper for even more depth and dimension.

 

I wanted to add something more behind that back drop of the "Merry" word, but more have it ass bulk - enter in stamps!!  I stamped the wonderful flag banner stamp from the "Create you Day" collection from Susan K. Weckesser stamped in gold by Ranger.  It added that perfect pop and texture needed!!

 

 To round it all off I added some leaves, flowers, and a die cut ornament to finish the card.  It does add bulk and dimension, but standing up on a mantle or a table with other Christmas cards this sure does stand out!

Quick and Sweet Last Minute Gift

Good Morning Creative Peeps!

Today I want to share with you a quick last minute gift that you can do in under 30 minutes.

I have been saving this maple syrup bottle for months (much to the annoyance of my hubby!) because I knew I wanted to use it for something. I LOVE the lines of it and that cute little handle. :) 

With the holidays coming up, I am making 60+ little jars of my homemade salted caramel sauce for my hubby to give to his office peeps. So...I decided my little bottle needed to become a special jar of caramel sauce for somebody. 

I was lucky enough to have a total creative perfection moment...I was trying to figure out how to make the perfect circle for my bottle when I realized the center of my large Spellbinders gear by Donna Salazar was the exact same size as my bottle label AND was the perfect size for the "Good as Gold" tag from Susan's "Live in Color Tags" paper. WINNING!

After adding my label, I rolled a few flowers from Susan's Whimsical Paper line and hand cut a few leaves. I attached them to the corner with a hot glue gun. 

For my tag, I used a Spellbinders label die and Susan's paper, topped off with Susan's "Smile" Stamp from her "A little bit of Washi" stamp set from Unity. (I used Pickled Raspberry Distress Ink from Ranger.) I hung it from Canvas Corp black rope and added a little bow. 

Top it all off with a little "Golden Goddess" Glam from Tattered Angels to add some sparkle and your handmade gift is ready for whatever you want to fill it with!

Funny Note: For this pic, I filled it with a little colored water because I couldn't find my funnel to add my thick caramel sauce into the bottle! LOL. 

Want my recipe for my salted caramel sauce? Here is the base recipe I found at The Recipe Girl Blog: Salted Caramel Sauce. It is good this way, but I like to tweek all recipes...I let my sauce boil an extra few minutes because the color and flavor gets darker and it gets thicker as it sets. Plus, I like a little more salt than this recipe calls for. 

I hope you enjoyed my quick and easy project today! And trust me...make some homemade caramel sauce this Christmas...you will never go back to store bought!

A quick card

I love red, white and Kraft at Christmas, it's so warm and cozy and makes pretty cards. 

Here's a quickie Christmas card made with the fern stamp from the Autumn Grunge stamp set with Unity.

I very simply drew a circle on my Kraft card stock.

Then stamped and embossed the fern all the way around.

I have to admit that I love fussy cutting things out and if you have the patience it's worth the fuss! Just layer it up with 3d foam pads and add a few sticky jems and a bit of ribbon from May Arts and it's done.

Merry Christmas Layout

Last December my friend took these wonderful pictures of my boys (plus some of me, my mom, and my daughter) when they were a week away from being 3 and 7 years old.  I just fell in love with the head shots of both boys, but could never find the inspiration to create a layout with them, until now!!

Putting pictures in Polaroid frames is huge right now, so I could not resist playing around with the idea.  My pictures were not the correct size, so I added a paper border inside and then added their names below.  I also wanted to try out my new circle punch (it made the doilies behind the pictures).  I then added in my own layers and clusters for lots of dimension and fun.

Here you can see some of the May Arts twine looped around to make a fun flourish behind the flowers.  I then added in a fun charm, which is all stacked up on top of chipboard, die cuts and paper some from Fancy Pants, and some wonderful Susan K. Weckesser Stamps used with various colors of red and brown Ranger Distress Inks.  

I used the following sets of stamps from Susan K. Weckesser all layered on top of each other for lots of dimension:
