"Wake Me Up When September Ends" - art journal

Hello friends!   JJ here again to share an art journal page with you, featuring Susan's fantastic "Autumn Grunge" stamp set.

(As you may have guessed, September seemed like an awfully long month.)

I started by stamping the various leaf stamps using different shades of chalk ink, as well as clear ink.  Then I embossed with clear embossing powder - which created a perfect resist for all the sprays I misted over top.

When the coloured sprays (Dylusions) were completely dry, I used Susan's borders stencil, and misted with white Dylusions spray, creating a ghosted effect:

I finished up with a stamped sentiment (and a good nap, ha ha!).

Thank you for visiting!

It's all in our perspective!

Greetings from Down Under
where the birds are in full flight
for spring has well and truly sprung
and many noisy critters are are out there
having lots of fun!

About this time last year I was anticipating my very first project and blog post
here at My Sweet Earth.
So much went through my mind as I ventured down an unknown path.
There certainly are differences but so much is warm and familiar.
Crafters are sharers and the women on this team have been carers.
This, my last post ( maybe) has a little crafting about
my Super Star and his Happy Place.

Whilst Super Star has not painted the town yet Idyll Hours is certainly a place to live
In Full Color!

The Laughing Birds are from his vivid imagination.
Yes, I smile every time I hang clothes on the line as they watch me with their steely gaze.

Living and loving and enjoying all that is good in our amazing world
is something we both try to do every day.
Not always easy.
Not always achieved!
But an aim to reach for.

Super Star's happy place as you can see,
has lots of stuff that's a mystery to me.
As Susan's sweet sentiment says:
There are good moments that will run away...
 if we let them.

If you would like to know the how's and what's of my happy bit of creative time
you can find it here on my blog post

If you would like to follow this passionate Aussie Crafter
from my Perspective-
I'd be honoured .....
and it has been an honour and a privilege to play here too!
Don't be a stranger ... I am a mouse click away.

Remember . . . The Windy City that was mighty pretty?

Hi everyone, Tracy here today with a little more wood Art . . .
. . . remember this journal entry that I created back in August with
from the
Purpose Of Art stamp set
that Susan designed for Studio 12 for Polkadoodles in the UK . . .
well I thought it was about time I put the idea onto some of that wood I have in a pile in my shed.
I have used a few different products on the wood but other than that it`s just the same.
A quick coat of Maimeri Gesso followed by a little Phthalo Blue Shade Pan Pastel mixed with a little of the Gesso for the background. I didn`t get a clean stamped image, but that`s easy sorted later with a fine liner pen and a few doodle, doodle, doo`s.
I used a combination of Pan Pastels and Water color paints.
Before . . .
. . . Stamping  the image again, snipping a few buildings and clouds out before coloring and fixing in place with Maimeri Matt Medium.
Following the sky up and over the top along with a little doodled sentiment and Heart.
A few splars of paint, a quick run over with a clear embossing pad, a sprinkling of clear embossing powder set with the heat tool to finish.
It may be only a little chunk of wood, but the do make me HAPPY!
Well that`s all from me today except to say
Thank you so much for taking the time to look
Till next time
Happy crafting!

That's What Sisters Do!

Hello.....Yes I'm back!
It's Julie Short here.
Yes I do get confused and can't read a calendar.
Phew that's the confession done.....now on to the fun stuff.

We share our home with many creatures and these two are our beloved Girls.
Their personalities are so different!

Angel - highly strung, bossy with a 4kg sized body and 1000% sassy attitude!

Bella - cruisy, extremely gentle, super protective of me.

This layout came together really quickly.
I did not need to fuss. it was inspired by a funny, little, every day, simple moment.
One that involved Miss 1000% and a very determined me!

It is very difficult to get too annoyed with a 4 kilogram, roaring like a lion, ball of attitude!
She raged and grumbled all the way up stairs.
Bella bore the brunt of her bad temper!
After a few minutes of quiet and I tiptoed up to see what they were up to.
It became a story!
I got out the Susan K.Weckesser Whimsical Papers and these stamps

I made a memory!
A simple everyday memory.

Taking time to enjoy the simple things is indeed sweet.

Pan Pastels & Premium Craft Brand & Me

Tile 2

I LOVE COLOR!

I LOVE PLAYING with color….and experimenting, and layering, and pushing it to the very limits! If you know my artwork and my style you know I tend to be curious and just because something doesn’t say that I can’t do it… doesn't mean that I am not doing try it! And if worse comes to worse….I am married to a fire man so if it goes up in flames….  And that is exactly why I love layering different wonderful products from Ranger Ink, Ice Resin, Prima Marketing, Clear Snap, i love to create, Faber Castell, and so many other wonderful manufactures that have cool products that make my {HEART} and imagination soar! Because I can and I always get really neat results!  That is why, when last week I was given the opportunity to be a Premium Craft Brands Educator on the PanPastel UK Blog I was delighted because like the companies that I am already an Endorsed Educator with, Ranger Ink and  Helmar, I truly admire the companies, and the products. I love working with them, creating new things and sharing what I am creating with other people.

I have taught classes, written and created many projects with Pan Pastels, but I really am thrilled to be working with Premium Craft Brands on this level and I sure hope that you check out there wonderful site and blogs. You can find their site HERE. Lots of COLOURFUL sweetness!

Feel free to grab the blinkie

PANPASTEL on ceramic tiles!?Tile 1

Why Not!?

Use something like a watermark resist or Emboss IT pen from Ranger Ink and layer it down with a decoupage medium like a Mod Podge or Helmar’s Decoupage and Craft Paste. The colours shine through and are SO vibrant!

Tile 3

Vintage papers and pattern pieces look very cool when layered in. This is really fun and easy to do! So COME and PLAY!!!!! Give it a try! *grin*
