Cheryl Boglioli here today to share a fun, whimsical, and simple card that I am mailing to my family.   I’ve been traveling and away from home for a few week and still have about 3 weeks left before I return home.   My daughter is a young adult and my hubby is quite self-sufficient, so even though they are managing just fine without me –I think they might be enjoying it a little too much – I am really missing my family.   Not only am I missing my family, but I’m also missing my own bed, my own coffee cup and my own space.   Don’t misunderstand me, I am having a fabulous time on this adventure and experiencing once-in-a-lifetime opportunities, but I miss my home and my family.   My family is my home and I’d be happy with them anywhere.
CherylsWindow_SusanKWeckesser_Clearsnap
I used LaBlanche Specialty Stamping paper to make this card and it is a large card.   It measures 5 x 6.5”.   I used Clearsnap’s ColorBox Archival Petal Point in Classic and Susan K Weckesser’s Little Haven house stamp to create my main images.  The word HOME came from this stamp set.   LOVE is part of Heartfelt Warmth and FAMILY is part of The Happy Homestead.  I love how vivid these Clearsnap colors stamped on the Specialty Stamping Paper.
CherylsWindow_SusanKWeckesser_Clearsnap-4
I stamped the word FAMILY on a separate piece of paper and used Helmar Zapdots to pop family off the card.  I also added a little more ink around the edges.  The petal point tip made this a cinch!
I did add a little more color and doodling using my Faber-Castell PITT artist Pens in various colors.   I was trying to embrace the whimsical part of Susan’s style.  I’m quite happy with how it turned out and hope my family knows how much I miss them.
Hope you enjoyed my card too!

April Create to Live Challenge

The sky is the daily bread of the eyes.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
How true is this quote. Blue skies give us ample time to plan, relax, think and dream!

These blue skies do not look like April showers are coming to me!  Gorgeous rich blue skies are calling to us as we anxiously await Spring and all the joys it brings; the warmer weather, the chirping birds, the blooming flowers.  Are you dreaming of Spring?   What are you dreaming of this month?
This challenge is for you to use the color and message themes in the picture above.  Take some creative liberty here to create based on how this picture makes you feel.  What does it inspire in you?  What creative ideas jump out at you first?
Create a project to share with us based on this picture above.  Write a blog post and share your project.  Come back here and link-up your blog post in the challenge submission in our sidebar to your left.  After you post your project, make sure to tweet about it, share it on Facebook and Pin it as well.  I’d love to see little ‘blooms’ of inspiration this month all over.  Use hashtag #createtolive when tweeting or pinning so we can find and share your posts too!
Your project can be a layout, a card, a mixed media piece, or anything you create using this picture as your inspiration.  Using Susan K Weckesser Inc products are not required, but are ALWAYS welcome.  :-)

Hydrangea Hippo & Susan K.Weckesser Day 5

HH SKW Bloghop2
I have had so much fun with this blog hog with Hydrangea Hippo. Super cool to see everyone sweet creations. So, the other day I restrained myself and created a basic card which you can see here. Well, with this project my creativity just kind of EXPLODED! It exploded right out of the top of this real egg that I resined with ICE Resin®. I also resined a vintage sewing pattern dictionary strips onto the egg. For the base, I stamped on a dictionary page with my co-branded Unity Stamp kit ‘A little Grunge Love” . I then used ICE Resin® and adhered it to a piece of parchment from Punky Sprouts.

I then had fun filling the egg with goodies! First I took some of the love flowers from Hydrangea Hippo and spritz them up with a little bit of Heidi Swapp’s Color Shine and Punky Sprouts Moonshadow Mists.HH SKW Bloghop1
I them used some wonderful lace and baker’s twine as filler. I also cut strips of my ‘Live in Color’ Susan K. Weckesser Inc. paper, distressed the edges and curled the paper.  I then used used Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive to gently attached the strips  to the middle.

Using baker twine, I attached one of the cut out word stripes to a couple of Hydrangea Hippo’s decorative pins. BTW, my feather has been finished in ICE Resin® also.

To finished of my little altered chicken egg creation….. I punched out a butterfly from an extra piece of paper that I had stamped on and glued it to one of the colourful flowers. I love this little piece because it is not perfect… but it is all kinds of warm and friendly fun stuff {blooming} out of my egg. It is my ‘Egg of Delight’ and I have had so much fun creating with all these beautiful supplies this week and seeing everyone's delightful work! THANK-YOU!
Make sure to stop by Hydrangea Hippo! Have a wonderful and very CREATIVE day!!!
hugs,
Susan xo

Hydrangea Hippo & Susan K.Weckesser Day 4

Hi!  I am Kate Nolan-Denham and I am super excited to be a guest designer on Susan's blog for Day 4 of the Hydrangea Hippo & Susan K. Weckesser Blog Hop!

Today I am sharing an altered mini-canvas I created using Susan K. Weckesser papers and stamps.

The "Live In Color" papers are so colorful and fun, I knew they would be a perfect compliment to this sassy, colorful photo of my daughter and her friends.

I used the large poloroid stamp from the "Insta-Cute" stamp set by Susan K. Weckesser @ Unity Stamp Co.  to create the frame. The sentiment stamp is also from "Insta-Cute."

The satin wire leaf, pearl bling flower and triple pin embellishments that adorn my project are all from Hydrangea Hippo.  Aren't they fantastic?  Jennifer has lots of other fabulous embellishments in her shop!

Thank you so much for joining me today for the blog hop! I hope you have enjoyed my project as much as I enjoyed creating with Susan K. Weckesser and Hydrangea Hippo products.

Hydrangea Hippo & Susan K. Weckesser Day 2!

Hey bloggers, Rita Barakat here! Do you ever get in a creative slump?
Sometimes you have to create something just to be creative.
It serves no purpose, it doesn't make a statement or tell a story.
It's just for fun because you have pretty paper and product.

Today is day two of our collaboration with Hydrangea Hippo !
All of the beautiful lace, twine and flowers are from Hydrengea Hippo.
The whimsical papers are of course from Susan K. Weckesser
and the heart is a stamp from
Susan K. Weckesser/Unity Stamp Co. stamps.

I  had this sweet little chipboard bird (Clear Scraps) and
I was in between DT projects so I pulled out random products just
to have fun creating. (The eye is a floral stick pin.)
Did you notice the tail?
I took apart these sprays...
It was so fun to create "just because".
I hope you enjoyed this project.
Here are some fun links to check out for more inspiration

Hydrangea Hippo and Susan K Weckesser Day 1!

Hi Jennifer here...a while back I received a lovely large bag full of products from Hydrangea Hippo.  It was full of flowers, lace, buttons, bling, glitter and other goodies.  I thought WOW! how am i going to choose what to use from the bag...so I tried to use as much of it as I could!!!  If you have not heard about Hydrangea Hippo check out the following sites for inspiration and where you can buy lots of goodies to use in your crafting.

I mixed the following products from Hydrangea Hippo Etsy site with Susan K Weckesser Live, Love, Create paper and other goodies!  http://hydrangeahippo.etsy.com/

Here is what I concocted together....I hope you like it, I was "tickled pink" when it was done...One of my fav pics from my last vacation away is the focal point.  I made the flowers by taking the lace and running a stitch along the edge and then pulling it into a circle. Sorry no pictures as it was impossible to take one that showed it.  But is it easy just a needle and thread, in an out along the edge and then pull and knot off.   I then attached stacked buttons and a little crocheted flower a friend made for me.  I tucked the photo into the glassine envelope, as well as the bunch of flowers that I made.  I also layered a paper flower that I pulled apart underneath the flowers, silver leaves and the floral sprays....I finished it off with the pink stick pins and the "Tickled Pink" heart cut from Susan K Weckesser paper.  This is a 6 x 12 layout a size that I like to do once and a while.

Thanks Hydrangea Hippo for sending me all the sweet products!  I had a blast using them and playing. Keep your eyes peeled for more great projects on this blog as well as HH as well, lots fun things will be posted this week and there maybe a few give aways as well!

Hugs Jennifer!
