Simple Mixed Media Christmas Cards

Hi all

I am back with some quick and easy mixed media cards using the Snow Way stamp set and the A Little Bit Washi stamp set. It's almost Christmas, are we excited yet?

I took a blank card and spritzed it with two different colours of blue spritzing inks and then used the Salty Ocean dabber by Tim Holtz and blended it in. I used the gold Smooch ink around the corners to add a bit of shimmer.

I used alcohol markers to colour the edges of the tag and snowman and used a blender pen to mixed the colours. I then layered up the snowman to make a topper and added sparkles.

I had another play with the Tumbleweed Houses stamp set

Again i mixed Sepia and burgundy inks together and used the gold smooch ink around the edges. i used the sentiment from the Snow Way stamp set and cut it out so i could position it along the bottom of the card.

I  coloured the housed in Red and Gold to make them more festive

Cute Little Snowmen ATCs

Hi all

I am back with my first post for December using the Snow Way stamp set . How is everyone coping with the festive season?  grab your mince pies and mulled wine and let the festive fun begin.

Cute aren't they? I loved the way these little snowmen looked coloured in so i made a few ATCs

I spritzed the background with a mixture of Vintage Blue, Vintage Burgundy and Sepia Inks

The background is stamped with the A Little Bit Washi set which is one of my favs

you can get so many different designs with the Snow Way stamp set and there are so many different colour combinations you could use.

I added some clear sparkles because the look like little snowballs.

The Snow Way stamp set has so many whimsical designs. I love this cheeky little chap with his little hat and scarf.

Thank you for visiting

Christmas Love Campaign 2015

Hello!

I am SO excited to be starting the SEVENTH ANNUAL Christmas Love Campaign! I LOVE sharing love with all though around me through art and creativity. I LOVE doing this campaign with YOU!

So, what is The Christmas Love Campaign?

My Story:

The 'CLC' is a very dear event that I started seven years ago shortly after losing my father to cancer. My dad had lived a life of always doing kind things for ANYONE & EVERYONE. When he passed away suddenly I didn't know what I could do to continue spreading his kindness and love that he showed and gave everyone.. One day at a scrapbooking crop I noticed how kind scrapbookers can be to each other even though most of the time they are total strangers. I noticed that even happens on the internet. Crafters reaching out to other crafters with words of encouragement in hard times and in good times. After seeing this, I approached The Canadian Scrapbooker in the fall of 2009 and I asked Katharina Doyle and Jackie Ludlage if I could write an article for their magazine on a topic that was very important to me, entitled 'Scrap Matters'. It talked about the awesome power of arts, crafts, and scrapbooking and I asked people how they brightened other people’s day by being creative?

'Simple Acts of Creative Kindness is an such AWESOME TOOL!'

Last December, right before Christmas, the CLC touched my heart at a entirely new level! I thought it was my kidneys bothering me. I was also told in last June that my jaw and teeth were softening and that I would need reconstructive surgery…a big surgery that meant having my teeth replaced with implants and bone graft in my jaw. So, I figured my feeling not good was all that and a LOT of nerves too. So I went into hospital for what I thought was a simple surgery to have some of my kidney stones removed, however, it turned into a bladder biopsy that totally surprised me. I tried not to think about it . However my doctor called to chat. I guess it turns out that I had Bladder Cancer. The word CANCER, still echoes in my ears. Never saw that coming. I didn't even know that there was such a thing. He said that he was really surprised because I am so young.

Continued.......with update...

It has been almost a whole year since been diagnosed with Cancer. What a year it has been. It feel like it has only been a week or two but at the same time so much has happened. I am not Cancer free yet. I have a long road ahead of me. I am so grateful for the support that I have received from my friends, my fans, and my fellow arts. ART DOES HEAL!!! The cards, little notes, and artwork that I have received lift me up and make me feel like I can do anything!!
