A loving home..by Vicky

Hello dear friends!
Happy Valentine's day!!!
Love is in the air!!!
There are many kinds of love...love for our children, love for our man/woman, love for our parents...
Love for life!!!

Today I will share with you a project I made for my loving dies...lol
I made a sweet home to store them!!! So, there can be also love for our favorite things!!!
And here it is:

It is very simple and very handy!!! I used my bind-it-all and some CD holders!
For the cover I have used Susan's whimsical papers and "little haven" gorgeous stamp!

But I have also made a card for my loving mother!
I have used the stamp "In circle me" which I heat embossed with clear UTEE on white cardstock and then I took my distress inks and I did the resist technique. I applied the inks with a sponge! Very simple and very impressive! I then stamped and cut out the lady from "Motherhood is a verb" and the little girl from "Grandma's needlepoint".
Tada.....

So, I made something different this time instead of hubby & me...
But as I said...there are many kinds of love and we should all show it every way we can!

Love yourself,
love the people around you,
love nature,
love LIFE!!!!
And give as much love as you can!
I promise, you will be rewarded!
With love,
Vicky

Our Heart is Home!

"Life without love is like a tree without blossoms or fruit" Khalil Gibran
This wonderful quote was the inspiration and starting point for my canvas today.

It is true that the love that Super Star and I share is not only for each other but also for our small patch of paradise "Idyll Hours". Our wild and wondrous place sustains us and keeps us going.

This summer, our home has been battered by many storms - the cleanup has been time consuming and at times, emotionally and physically difficult. We all face these caprices of nature and destructive weather events that can turn our world upside down. It truly makes us value what is important.

We could have been overwhelmed as our heart is tied to our home. However, we have  been bouyed and lifted by kindness and serendipitous events too this summer! Another shadehouse is being built as we begin sorting out an amazing collection of plants that have found a home with us. We are honoured to be the caretakers of this extrordinary treasure trove.

Entrusted with new, rare and beautiful - a man's life work, our dream is to grow and to share these wonders.

To create my canvas was simple. Sprays, stains and paint were added to a gessoed canvas. I wanted the background to look like the sky does as brilliant summer sunsets reach out fading fingers of light.
The dear sweet house is from Susiebees Studios "Live in Colour" paper range as are the flowers and floating butterflies. The stamps I used were Le Mason, Grandma's Needlepoint and a Little Grunge Love which are all Susan.K.Weckesser's Co Branded sets from Unity Stamp Company. And every house deserves a little bling! This was added with pens, paint and pearl pens.

Is there anything better than nurturing and caring for your home?
We don't think so.
Julie and her Super Star.

A little happy...

Any body ready for spring?
Rita Barakat here with a layout made from Susan K. Weckesser's
beautiful papers - it reminds me of spring.
Fluffy white clouds and kites?
pretty, pretty flowers...
and paint...now we are talking!
Doesn't that just make you happy?
We all need a little happy!
Here I added a few touches of my own using a
stampers big white pen, a Pitt artist pen and a Crafters Workshop stencil.
The past few days have been kind of dark and foggy here
so it was nice change to work
with such happy colors!

Some finishing touches!
What are you creating these days?
I hope it's something that makes you happy!

Create to Live February Challenge

BLOOM...
Love is in the air this month and many of us are dreaming of Spring; the soft colors, the soft breezes, the beautiful blooms, and the return of singing birds.  Some of us find ourselves hunkering down during the winter and we get so busy with holidays and fighting off flu season that we forget to take a few minutes for ourselves to create.   So this month, we will start a creative challenge.

This challenge is for you to use the color themes and message theme in the picture above.  Take some creative liberty here to create based on how this picture makes you feel.  What does it inspire in you?  What creative ideas jump out at you first?

Create a project to share with us based on this picture above.  Write a blog post and share your project.  Come back here and link-up your blog post in the challenge submission in our sidebar to your left.  After you post your project, make sure to tweet about it, share it on Facebook and Pin it as well.  I’d love to see little ‘blooms’ of inspiration this month all over.

Your project can be a layout, a card, a mixed media piece, or anything you create using this picture as your inspiration.  Using Susan K Weckesser Inc products are not required, but are ALWAYS welcome.  :-)

And, YES, we will have a prize drawn from the submissions.

Call me.

Today is Erin's day on the blog {that's me}! Naturally, I grabbed for my Unity Susan K Weckesser stamps and got inky before the Super Bowl. {Who am I kidding...I didn't watch the game - I snacked and watched commercials.}

I heat embossed a stamp from the ABC. 123. Washi. stamp set on Papertrey Ink's Hibiscus Burst cardstock with clear embossing powder. I then colored this sassy mom from the Itty Bitty Motherhood is a Verb. {I just love sassy ladies. Kind of like Beyonce during halftime last night. Killed it!}
I added some fun bubble letters from Hob Lob for the sentiment and another cut of the abc. 123. washi along with some washi to finish it up.

Have a great day!

Easy Ways to{#cre8time}with your Family

Kitty Nap

Life can get SO busy.

*Family

*Church

*Sports & afterschool activities

*House

*Occasional Self Time( yup, a mom needs some alone  time)

*Work

It can ALL get a little overwhelming sometimes. That is why I fell in love with this…

Cre8time

“CRE8TIME is a movement, a movement supported by a group of people who want to make a positive social change. As our lives become increasingly crowded with “responsibilities,” we tend to ignore ourselves and find it difficult to justify creative pursuits; they seem “selfish” and are often the first things we discard.  It’s time to reclaim our creativity!  It is designed to help people recover eight hours a month and devote it to their particular craft, and to create a place for them to share their experiences – the joys, lessons, and results – with the creative community at large.”

How Cool is this? An organization that encourages you to bring back  CREATIVITY into your life! Everyone needs a little creativity in there life. It helps you clear your mind, heal your heart, get closer to your loved ones , and get back to the BASICS! So AWESOME!! I adore this! To find out more information about cre8time, and to join this movement,  you can visit their site HERE.

Here is how our family has been putting a little CRE8TIME into our lives this month.

Me, well….you know me. I just love playing with anything colorful when I have a chance! It is so relaxing and just puts a smile on my face!

This month I am proud to say that I am featured in the wonderful magazine -

I was thrilled when they asked me if I wanted to be in there lovely magazine. Plus, I was even more thrilled because GUESS WHAT!?!?! They are giving all my readers…. you AWESOME people, a free 30 day subscription if they use the code "SusanW". Love will break through!

Hi Susan Weckesser fans, Einat Kessler here with a fun project!
Have you ever felt like you're in a "box", creatively, physically or mentally? It happens to all of us. But there is one thing, one thing that always helps. One thing that helps, one thing that will always break through...LOVE!
LOVE WILL ALWAYS BREAKS THROUGH!

I created this project for a rainy day. A fun, cheerful and uplifting message to put on my desk as a reminder of the amazing power of love!

I took an empty plastic container and created a little scene inside. I stamped my favorite house stamp, cut it and adhered it to the bottom. I added a cloud and flowers. Then I cut a little slit on the side of the container and inserted a piece of cardstock with LOVE stamped on it. I also inserted a kite through another slit. I added a title and a little bling.

Try creating an inspiring project for yourselves, a project that would lift up your spirits and put a smile on my face!

Have fun creating!
Einat
