Let It Snow Stocking

Hi there!  Lee-Anne here today I wanted to share with you a canvas stocking that I created for our Hand-Made Christmas Celebration with the Christmas Love Campaign.

I love all the goodies that I received and I immediately was drawn to the canvas stocking from Canvas Corp.

To begin,  I created a ribbon Christmas tree with the green ribbon from May Arts and cut several strips measuring 2 1/2 " long and then folded each strip and glued them together.  I made several folded strips and then I took my Core'dinations Glitter Cardstock in the green shade and hand cut  a triangle measuring approximately 3 inches from the top to the bottom.  I then began to adhere the folded green ribbon strips to the triangle. For the trunk of the tree, I used the sanding tool from Core'dinations and hand cut a small rectangular shape to resemble a tree trunk and sanded the surface of a black piece card stock and adhered it to the bottom center of the tree.

For the May Arts ribbon that has a red stitch running through it, I adhered it with glue around the bottom of the stocking cuff.  I then took my the dual colored twine from May Arts and tied a bow and adhered it to the center of the cuff.  With the same twine, I wrapped it around the tree to give it the look of garland. For the third ribbon from May Arts, I made a little bow from the red chevron ribbon and make that my tree topper.  Once the tree was all assembled, I adhered the tree to the canvas stocking.  The stocking wouldn't be the same without the cute snowman stamp by Susan Weckesser  and the Let It Snow word stamp.  I inked the stamps up with some black Ranger Archival Ink and stamped the stocking.  To paint the snowman, sky and snow, I used the supplied Scribbles Fabric Paint.

Once it was dry I took some Diamond Stickles and went over the snow to give it more shine.

To finish the stocking I added a sequin to the twine bow and the tree.

The stocking is now complete and ready to give as a homemade gift.  So now it's your turn to create!
