Things are Swimmingly good!

Hi, Jennifer here and this will be my first blog post for Susan K Weckesser Design team.  I was so excited when the products arrived I could not wait to make something.  I made up this little canvas which now sits on a shelf and cheers me up each time I see it.  I love fish, especially gold fish and koi so that was my inspiration, as well as color!

I started with a 8 x 11 canvas and covered it in one of Susan's papers, Color Burst, just mod podging it to the canvas.  Next I painted the edges with white gesso, applied the gesso with the edge of an old credit card and rubbed it around with my finger and smoothed it out with a piece of cheese cloth.

Next, I stamped Susan's sun on a string image and cut it out.  I also cut out one of the tags from the SKW pattern paper.  I pop dotted both of these to the page.  I also stamped out 5 fish (Local King Rubber Co) onto glossy cardstock and attached them to the canvas. I made these by colouring the image with markers randomly and stamped them down on the glossy paper, these were then cut out and pop dotted as well. Their tails were curled up for more dimension. I added the sub-title of today using AC Thickers.

I then added more gesso and paint in the form of small dots.  This was accomplished using magic mesh and pouncing the gesso on it. I did this randomly across the canvas.  I also added a few blue dots as well.

I also added a few additional circles to the page using the gesso and painting it on a bottle cap and pressing it onto the paper.  Some Nestabling were also added to the canvas from Spellbinders.  That was it all done, simple, fun and messy to do!  I hope you enjoy it, till next time Live In Color!
