Christmas Love Campaign

Merry Christmas everyone!

I just adore this cute little snowman stamp by Susan K. Weckesser called One of a Kind Winter {christmas campaign} It is just so much fun to play with and you don't have to go outside in the cold either! Although, a cup of hot chocolate is always nice after being outside building a snowman, right? And chocolate is worth getting cold for....but I digress...

I have been making wedding cards lately and I love to make whimsical cards so what better way to combine the two than by making a snow-groom and snow-bride card? I think this would be awesome to get if you got married during the winter months.

Everyone probably knows by now how much I love to doodle on my cards and I went to town with the hearts using a microm pen to outline them and then I colored them in with my Inktense blocks. I wish it snowed hearts everyday! Wouldn't the world be a better place if it did? I also embellished my snow-groom and bride with some Ranger's stickles and liquid pearls.

Don't forget about the Christmas Love Campaign still going on!
LET us SPREAD CREATIVE LOVE ALL AROUND THE WORLD!!!!

Merry Christmas Gift Bag

Hi everyone,  Steph Ackerman here today finalizing last minute Christmas projects.

I love giving gifts in hand made gift bags and wanted to create something special.  Using a variety of stamps and stencils, it's easy and fun to create the perfect gift bags.

Using a white gift bag, I inked The Crafter's Workshop Vineyard stencil with ColorBox Crafter's Ink for Ann Butler in Evergreen.  The large sized stencil make it possible to ink the entire bag without moving the stencil.

Die cutting red and green ovals, I placed them in the center of the gift bag, then used the Crafter's Workshop North Star stencil with Art Anthology Frost Sorbet on the red oval.  This provided some nice dimension.

To finish, I stamped and fussy cut the house from the Unity Little Haven stamp set on Beautiful Daydreams pattern paper and the clouds from the Unity Fly Away stamp set on white cardstock.  Reindeers were added to the roof with foam adhesives, and Stickles were placed on one reindeer's nose and the roof line of the house.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Merry Christmas.

Color Burst Christmas Tree Card

Hi! Dana here sharing a fun holiday card today. I had a lot of fun with my favorite Susan K. Weckesser Color Burst patterned paper. I have once again cut the colorful circles from the paper, slightly distressed the edges, and used them to form a tree.

I used the Susan K. Weckesser Live In Color Stencil with Clearsnap Smooch to add sparkly yellow garland to the tree. I stamped some washi designs onto the tree and around the border of the card using the Susan K. Weckesser ABC.123.Washi Stamp Set.

I cut the sentiment from a piece of Susan K. Weckesser Live, Love, Create patterned paper.

SUSAN'S SNOWMAN!

It's almost Christmas!  I love giving this time of year.  My favorite part of Christmas is watching people open the presents I got (or made) for them!!

This tag is going to be given away for the Susan K. Weckesser #christmaslovecampaign !
I started this tag by using The Crafter's Workshop "Beaded Curtain" stencil with red paint.  I added a small doily on top and traced some of the circles from the stencil on it.  I made a # with a marker and used the word "Christmas" from Susan's World of Christmas stamp set and the "Love" is from Susan's An {Artful} Ornament stamp set.

This snow man is made by Susan.  She is so talented!!  He is on the #christmaslovecampaign blinkie.  I knew he had to be put to good use cuz he's sooooooooooo cute!!  I cut him out and added some pearls to his buttons.

I hope you are sharing some love this Christmas!!

Happy Holidays!!

O' Christmas Tree

Good morning friends. Can you believe Christmas is in one week? I decided to make a few more cards because really this is my favorite time of the year. A couple of weeks ago I used this set and made a Christmas tag. Today I am using it for a card. I stamped 2 different banners using the set

I also used one of the stamps from
A LITTLE BIT WASHI

I colored the banners with Copic markers
G05, G07, R27

I added a sentiment and a couple of red twine bows to finish the front of the card off.

I just love using this set for Christmas tree's. The Washi stamp made a perfect tree trunk.

I hope you enjoyed my post today.

I want to wish each of you a Merry Christmas and a very Blessed New Year.

"Let it Snow" Puzzle Cards

For Christmas this year we decided to give a trip for our kids and not gifts, so to reveal this fun present to our kids we had them each open 3 presents (the cards below) with clues of where we were going, so 9 clues total were opened at an early Christmas present opening with my parents.  On each card I wrote a portion of a sentence giving a clue of where we were going.  It reads, "For this Christmas our present to all of you is to spend our time together having fun and lots of cheer.  So bring your magic and your swim suits for we are going to a very special place full of lots of wonder and joy."

On the back side of the cards were numbers stating which row the card was in (to make it a bit easier) and a letter or two that they had to arrange to spell the words "Great Wolf Lodge".  The screams of excitement were deafening as they figured out where we were going.

The cards each measure 4 x 4 inches, so once together it creates a 12 x 12 page.  The colors of the papers and the cute diecuts were just perfect for this little project!!

For some of the cards I used the super cute "Let it Snow" stamp set from Susan K. Weckesser.  The snowman and phrase were just a perfect fit for these papers.

So even thought there are not true presents to be opened this year, our trip is worth so many more memories than any toy can give.

I {heart} the #ChristmasLoveCampaign

unnamed

I just LOVE this little stamp called "One of a Kind Winter" designed by Susan K. Weckesser and carried in the Unity store with all of her other fabulous stamps! I paired him up with the tiny bird stamp from Hero Arts which goes perfectly with the sentiment from Robin's Creative Cottage.

I added some molding pasted sprinkled with Ranger's Distress glitter for snow and for some awesome texture! My little snowgirl is colored in with Inktense pencils and a Koi waterbrush.

I make cards to give away to my lady neighbors in my building. We are all single so I began 3 years ago to surprise them with a home made Christmas card. The Christmas Love Campaign <3 is wonderful because little random acts of kindness can mean a whole lot more than you may ever know.

Living With the “C” Word

Hope SKWeckesser post

“Expose yourself to your deepest fear; after that, fear has no power, and the fear of freedom shrinks and vanishes. You are free.”

― Jim Morrison

Oh my friends, what a week I have had. I am full of so many emotions today that I can barely breathe.

I am full of JOY.

I am full of LOVE.

I am full of FEAR.

I am of SADNESS.

I am full FAITH.

I am full of PEACE.

I am full of HOPE.

My head is still swirling from the past week events. I still wake up each morning thinking that this is all a dream. CANCER has always been that little grey cloud in my family that other family members and friends sadly got. I can only imagine what my Dad up in Heaven is saying about this one right now. He is shaking his head in disbelieve for sure and likely cracking some silly joke…that’s my dad! *grin* The hardest part of this week was telling my husband and my kiddos. I still get tears in my eyes even thinking about it. As a Mom you want to protect them no matter what, and last week, I broke their hearts. well, actually Cancer broke their hearts. It is ok though because I will mend them! Because that is what a Mum does, right!?

As the week went on I received so many amazing texts. messages and emails from people. People offering prayers and beautiful  thoughts. People lifting me up with fasting and prayer. I cant tell you how full my heart felt as I felt your sweet prayers. Thank-you SO much! Prayer is such an amazing blessing! it really is so healing. I have done it for others but I have never wanted to ask people to do it for me. So last week and even still today as I have been so blessed to have people pray and fast for me I can tell you how full of love and peace it has made me feel. I can not thank you enough!

I also got in touch with my missionary’s mission president and I was able to Skype Kurt to talk to him. It was so bittersweet. It was wonderful to see him for the first time in a year and a half but so hard to tell him my news especially when he is on the other side of the globe. My kiddos are so awesome, that is all I can say!

“Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.”

― Corrie ten Boom

IMG_5993

I think the fear of the unknown is what is so scary. Especially when the doctor can’t tell me to much until I have my surgery. All he can say is he is surprised and that someone my age and sex really typical shouldn't get this. Also that he is quite sure where it is all at. But I guess we will find that out soon enough. That and Google. Google is SO bad! When you cant sleep at night, do not look on Google! Oh my Heavens!

I was just sitting trying to do some designing down and was listening to some Christmas Carols and the tears started rolling down my face. I haven't cried all week, but I have cried today. I am fine now. I did find out on Saturday that I have to be careful grocery shopping if I feel a little blue because I ended up buying food that I normally don't buy. I kept seeing food that I have never eaten and thought to myself what is I never get to eat that. Silly I know, cause I will likely live to 120!  I got home and Marcus just looked at me like I am crazy as I presented him with a jar of Marmite, an elephant garlic and three different boxes of mac & cheese. (I don’t like any of those things!) Haha!

So, now I am going to relax. Enjoy making Christmas Cookies with my girls. Enjoy Christmas Traditions. Enjoy the Christmas Love Campaign. Enjoy Life.

I am SO grateful for all my blessings. This really is an AWESOME  world! Just have to slow down and enjoy each and every moment!

Thank-you for being you and for being such amazing friends!

hugs,

Susan xo

#CRAFTUPLOVE

Susan K. Weckesser has started her annual Christmas Love Campaign!!  Please click the link to read all about this AMAZING labor of love she created!  I KNOW you will want to join in and spread the love!!

I made this tag for for The Christmas Love Campaign.  I intend to use it on a gift for someone special!
I started with Susan's Live In Color Cardstock.  It was a fabulous neutral pattern with a splatter pattern on it.  Then I used Susan's Stencil to put the "25" on the bottom of the tag.  I used 2 of Susan's stamp sets, World Of Christmas and Very, Very Merry.   I colored the tag stamped image with Tombow's Dual Brush MarkersThe edges and stamped images were inked with Ranger Distress Inks.

I added a little ink splatter to the Merry Christmas stamped image to go with the splatter on the paper.  I finished with gauze, Prima flowers and some Ranger Stickles.

I hope you join the #christmaslovecampaign and craft up some love!!

Card fun with stencils

Hi everyone,  Steph Ackerman here today.

I find there is nothing more soothing or enjoyable than creating cards with pretty papers.  I also love texture and creating texture with stencils can be a lot of fun.

The Live In Color Collection has beautiful shades of blues and pinks and yellows and more and the flowers are whimsical and fun.  I chose to fussy cut the flowers then place them on cardstock which  had been stenciled using the Crafter's Workshop Tiny Circle stencil.

Since this paper is double sided, I used the striped side for the card  base and placed the stenciled panel on top.  The flowers were then added to the card with foam adhesives for dimension.

A simple sentiment finishes the card.

Let It Snow Tag

Hi! Dana Tatar here today sharing a frosty tag that I created with Susan K. Weckesser patterned paper and stamps and some lovely products from The Crafter's Workshop, Canvas Corp, UmWow Studio and Prima.

I started with a piece of Beautiful Daydreams patterned paper and cut it down to the size of a standard shipping tag. I then cut circles from the Color Burst patterned paper and glued them randomly to the striped tag. I used The Crafter's Workshop Mini Folk Art Flower with Martha Stewart Sparkle Texture Effect to create the large "snowflake" pattern on the base of the tag.

I used the Susan K. Weckesser One of a Kind Winter Stamp Set to stamp the "Let it" portion of the sentiment. The letters for the word "SNOW" were cut from a piece of Live, Love, Create patterned paper. I outlined the letters with a white gel pen and topped the "O" with flowers. The chipboard is from UmWow Studio. I colored it lightly with acrylic paint, dabbing the color on with my fingers.

I finished the tag with floral trim, lace and adhesive pearls.

Christmas Love Campaign…& a new journey!

unnamedHappy DECEMBER!

I am SO excited to be starting the SIXTH ANNUAL Christmas Love Campaign! I LOVE sharing love with all though around me through art and creativity. I LOVE doing this campaign with YOU!

So, What is The Christmas Love Campaign?

The 'CLC' is a very dear event that I started six years ago shortly after losing my father to cancer.  My dad had lived a life of always doing kind things for ANYONE & EVERYONE. When he passed away suddenly I didn't know what I could do to continue spreading his kindness and love that he showed and gave everyone.. One day at a scrapbooking crop I noticed how kind scrapbookers can be to each other even though most of the time they are total strangers. I noticed that even happens on the internet. Crafters reaching out to other crafters with words of encouragement in hard times and in good times. After seeing this, I approached The Canadian Scrapbooker in the Fall of 2009 and I asked Katharina Doyle and Jackie Ludlage if I could write an article for their magazine on a topic that was very important to me, entitled 'Scrap Matters'. It talked about the awesome power of arts, crafts, and scrapbooking and I asked people how they brightened other peoples day by being creative?

'Simple Acts of Creative Kindness is an AWESOME TOOL!'

This year the CLC has touched my heart at a entirely new level! I am late at putting out the campaign because the last few months I haven’t felt to well. I thought it was my kidneys bothering me. I was also told in June that my jaw and teeth were softening , and that I would need reconstructive this year…a big surgery that meant having my teeth replaced with implants and bone graft in my jaw. So, I figured my feeling not good was all that and a LOT of nerves too. So last week I went into hospital for what I thought was a simple surgery to have some of my kidney stones removed however it turned into a bladder biopsy that totally surprised me. I tried not to think about it all week. However my doctor call last night to chat. I guess it turns out that I have Bladder Cancer. The word CANCER, still echoes in my ears. Never saw that coming. I didn't even know that there was such a thing. He said that he was really surprised because I am so young.  I will be going in for surgery to remove what they can and then they will decide what else should be done. They will also figure out if it has gone anywhere else.

NOW, I don't like talking about my health. But, I just wanted you to know what I am up to. I asked for my surgery to be after Christmas because I want to have a wonderful one with my kiddos! Right!? *smile* Plus, i know in my heart… my faith will carry me through. So, you have to smile! I am about to start a new journey…

Celebrate the Simple Things

Good morning friends. Larissa here with a Christmas tag using Susan K Weckesser's

Celebration of Simple 1
I started off stamping 3 of the four banner triangles onto a piece of white 100 lb cardstock. Two using black ink and one using red. I then colored them using my Copic markers.
G05, G07, G28 and R25, R27.

I then took my glittery gellyroll pen and went around the circles and added some dots here and there. I added some Christmas twine and gold ribbon to the top and finished it with a bow.
I punch small gold glitter circles and added them with a few red sequins.
I stamped the sentiment from the set with red ink and cut it apart.

A simple tag for a Big Celebration happening soon.
Have a wonderful rest of your Tuesday friends and don't forget to check back to see what our amazing Design Team creates this week.
