Enjoying some 'Girly Dots'!

I LUV playing with Samantha Walker & Unity Stamp Company's stamp sets. I really enjoy the whimsical feel of the Girly Dot set that I played around with on some canvas pages. After stamping on my image I used Tattered Angels to blend and color in the image. I used acrylic paint to accent up the corners. And how fun is it to accent the page with some organza ribbon roses from Maya Road and wonderful beads!

Doodling up a quick Father day Gift with the Kiddos!

So for a quick and easy Father's Day gift, I got out some of my 'Live in Color' paper collection from Susiebee Studios Inc.  and some of my ZIG Memory Writers from Kuretake and I made some nifty 'coupons' to give to Dad.

By folding a piece of Beautiful Daydreams paper and lacing it up I was able to make a carrying case or envelope for the coupons. To keep the coupons from falling out I laced the edges together using craft cording. I had fun distressing the envelope by using Tattered Angel glimmer mist over a Tim Holtz mask.

For my lettering I used ZIG Painty~Gold&Silver which is an oil based pen and covers beautifully on most surfaces!

     The kiddos and I came up with coupon ideas which I doodled up to put into the laced envelope.     

I then gave them one last spray on Tattered Angels Chalkboard.

Fabric, Fabric , Fabric

My new summer quilt still a work in progress!

Besides my paper obsession, I adore fabric! I love all types of fabric, but I have to admit the my favourite is simple cottons that are all decked out in all kinds of lovely whimsical patterns! I LOVE the wonderful colors that fabric come in today! How fun is it to sew up a lovely quite or place mat with some of the beautiful palettes that are available!!!

!Instead of throwing away my fabric scraps, I love to make them into gifts to give to people. Fabric can put a smile on anyone's  face. You can find so many different fun quilt patterns and designs in the library or on the internet.

So this past month, because I have been busy with kiddos, hubbies, deadlines, work, house, and everything else live throws me, I have found it extremely relaxing to pull out my sewing and have a little 'me' time just to unwind and relax! Plus, I got excited because my own fabric samples that I designed came in that I get to play with next month.

So take a little time for yourself and play with some wonderfully, whimsical color fabric. Trust me…. you will be smiling!

I Am Having a Party!

Woohoo!!!

That's right…. I am having a Party and who doesn't like a party!?!?

The sun is shining, the days are nice and warm, it is summer….. so what a fantastic time to have one big party! All summer I will be posting party ideas here on my blog. Your will also find my ideas at FaveCrafts, and Create Scrapbooks, plus I will doing webisodes that will be lots of fun so please join me….I will be posting dates!

     

Plus when you have a party you have to have presents and prizes! So I am going to be getting out my party hat and my gift wrap and wrapping up some of my favorite crafting supplies to give away during my summer party! Oh Ya!!!! I am so excited! Antique Mirror Makeover

I found this lovely old antique mirror for sale at a really good price, so I decided to buy it and recycled it. First I took some painter's tape and cardstock and I covered over the mirror.

         I then gave it a lovely coat of acrylic paint. I used Gecko, and Turquoise and mixed in splashes of Antique White. With my Gecko I used a Color Float so I could play with the color and decide where I wanted to put it. I also applied a crackle medium.

After the crackle medium  was dry I put some Tim Holtz Distress Inks from Ranger on a cloth and rubbed it gently into the distressed cracked to complete my age look.

I then glue on some beach glass. I LOVE beach glass! 

   

I also glued on some nifty buttons.

After a bit of lace and rhinestones, my antique mirror is now complete! So cool and easy to do!

Gotta love re-crafting things! You have to give it a try….you will love it!
